Whether you are living in physical pain or emotional pain, we will work together to help you sleep better, decrease pain, improve relationships, get "unstuck" and feel happier. One of our greatest goals as clinicians is treating you with the support and care you deserve. We not only want to help you feel better, we want to help you live better and move out of negative patterns of behavior that do not serve you. We work from an integrative perspective, meaning that we have been trained in a wide variety of psychological techniques and will combine them to help you achieve your goals. We will teach you to use the tools that help you most, so that you can continue to work with these techniques on your own, once you have completed therapy. And that sense of independence and control you gain over your own life, that will feel truly fulfilling!

Do you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Maybe you have always been the responsible one or the person others rely on. You pushed through stress, anxiety, and family challenges because you felt like you had to. At first it seemed manageable, but now the pressure feels heavier and harder to carry. On the outside you appear confident and put together. Inside you might feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or worried that you cannot keep this up much longer. Wanting a break does not mean you are failing. It means you are human. I’m Sara, and I help students who are tired of perfectionism, constant pressure, and the weight of expectations. I work with people who want healthier relationships, better communication, and support as they process past experiences that still affect them today. My background includes ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, and group therapy training, which allows me to tailor our work to what you need. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, honest, and real environment where you can finally let your guard down. I show up as myself so you can feel comfortable showing up as yourself too. You deserve a space where you can put down the pressure you have been carrying and focus on feeling grounded, supported, and hopeful. I am here to help you get there.
I use a relational, psychodynamic, and CBT-informed approach that helps clients understand patterns, build insight, and create meaningful change. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in navigating anxiety, mood concerns, life transitions, family dynamics, and relationship challenges. I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel understood, challenged, and supported. I am an MHC-LP with clinical experience in private practice, inpatient, and hospital settings. I earned my M.Ed. and M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University, as well as a B.S. in Cognitive Psychology from Vanderbilt University. My training has helped me develop a thoughtful, adaptable, and clinically grounded foundation.
My approach to therapy is focused on developing genuine relationships that are collaborative and empathic, so clients can feel safe, understood, and supported in sessions. I’m committed to exploring and affirming each client's individuality and intersecting identities, and to supporting individuals in the LGBTQ+ and CNM communities, college students, and professors. I work with adults focused on issues related to social anxiety, ADHD, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, relationship/communication dynamics, and climate anxiety. Sessions are based on a foundation of relational warmth and safety to build a sense of connection, empowerment, deeper insight, and personal resiliency. I primarily draw from person-centered, feminist, trauma-informed, narrative, and IFS approaches, but there is not one specific kind of therapy that works well for everyone. We all have unique strengths and perspectives. Sessions focus on identifying ways to create sustainable positive changes given each client's particular context and lived experience.
Hi! I'm Alysia. I specialize in working with both adults and young adults in navigating periods of transition, life changes and relationships. I will collaborate with you to create a space where we can work together to better understand you. I look forward to unpacking this baggage with you in a safe, supportive place. No worries - There is room for it all. Reach out and we can take this next step together.

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Mindfulness-based care, and creative interventions to help you gain insight and develop practical coping skills. My style is collaborative and flexible, tailored to your unique needs and goals. I look forward to helping you feel empowered, understood, and confident as you work toward growth and balance. My path to becoming a therapist grew from years of working closely with children and families as a nanny, dance teacher, and school-based clinician. These experiences in both clinical and school-based settings deepened my commitment to providing empathetic, developmentally informed care. In my practice now, I bring warmth, creativity, and genuine curiosity to each session, honoring every patient’s unique story. I am also planning to pursue my Doctor of Social Work, reflecting my commitment to ongoing growth, ethical practice, and providing thoughtful, high-quality care to every patient I serve. In both my personal and professional life, I value balance, self-reflection, and creative expression. Outside of therapy, I nurture my mind and body through creative movement, including dance, Pilates, yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, and journaling. I also enjoy exploring spirituality, tarots, and manifestation for a well-rounded life.

What stories shape your sense of self and the world? Have you found yourself stuck or disempowered by the stories you tell about yourself or others? With my unique background in mental health counseling and doctorate in English Literature, I approach therapy as a collaborative, meaning-making process informed by story, culture, and connection. I aim to make your life more robust by empowering you to widen narrative possibilities. Given my continued connection to educational spaces, I am especially interested in the stories we tell ourselves about education, learning, and development (and the stresses that come with expectations around perfectionism). My approach is shaped by a strong awareness of “systems,” including educational/academic systems, recognizing that personal suffering is inseparable from how we are shaped by cultural and historical contexts. Through attuned listening to your story across the systems you inhabit, I work to position you as the author of your own life. I undertake a collaborative, rather than authoritative role in my therapeutic work. I am interested in an array of identities and “concerns” such as grief, depression, anxiety, “disordered” eating, existential dilemmas, LGBTQ-facing issues, illness, transitions, attachment, academic experiences, etc. Likewise, I employ a variety of approaches in my work—ACT, DBT, psychodynamic, narrative therapy, creative arts therapies, Gestalt, psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems. At the core, I utilize a reparative lens: rather than solely foregrounding wounds, I champion joy, resilience, and the potential for healing. I invite you to embark on this path forward with me as we build a therapeutic space for honoring the complexity of your story and work to cultivate wholeness.
Today, you are one step closer to creating a life of greater health, healing, and well-being. As a trauma-informed therapist, Reiki Master, mindfulness teacher, and transformational coach, I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can safely explore life’s challenges and discover your inner strengths. My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for your unique experiences and goals. I believe healing happens when we feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. By combining evidence-based therapeutic practices with mindfulness and holistic approaches, I help clients develop practical skills to navigate stress, heal from past experiences, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, burnout, or simply seeking greater balance and purpose, we will work together to identify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and create a path forward that reflects your values and aspirations. If you’re looking for support during a difficult time or you’re ready to move in a new direction, I would be honored to partner with you on your journey. Together, we can build a life that is not only meaningful and fulfilling but one that is truly worth celebrating—as defined by you.

I'm currently working as a postdoctoral fellow. I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical & School Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Nebraska Mental Health Centers in Lincoln, Nebraska. At this site, I received an extensive generalist training in therapeutic practices and psychological assessments, addressing a wide array of psychopathologies and demographics. I provide therapy services from an integrative perspective, drawing primarily from Person-Centered, Attachment, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapies. This means our work together will prioritize creating a safe, empathetic space where your unique experiences are deeply understood and respected. We'll explore how early relationships and patterns might be influencing your present struggles and how to build more secure connections. Additionally, you'll learn practical skills to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, manage intense emotions and improve relationships, and cultivate mindfulness, acceptance, and a commitment to living in alignment with your values, even in the face of discomfort. My goal is to tailor our approach to your specific needs, empowering you with both insight and effective strategies for lasting change and a more fulfilling life. My significant experience in community mental health uniquely equips me to address anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, behavioral issues, parenting training, severe and persistent mental illness, and trauma across diverse child, adolescent, and adult populations. My background in the school setting further allows me to provide comprehensive wrap-around services for children and families. Last, I have done extensive research on minority stress, the impact it has on mental health in the LGBTQ+ community, and subsequent affirmative evidence-based treatments. My training has also prepared me to provide comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational evaluations. This helps clients gain diagnostic clarification and provides a direction for treatment services.
