Therapists for college students near Indianapolis, IN
Dave Kyrie has dedicated his career to the service of others. With 18 years in healthcare, he has worked in a variety of settings including trauma, intensive care, behavioral health, surgical recovery, and deployed medicine with the US Army. He has seen how the challenges and tragedies of life can affect people, and his dedication to help others to recover in a hospital changed to a passion to collaborate with patients to improve the quality of their life. This passion led him to pursue education as a PMHNP where he focused primarily on adult and adolescent mood disorders, traumatic response, and recovery from substance use disorders. Dave believes that all individuals have inherent value and are deserving of help and opportunities to improve their life. Dave works collaboratively with adults and adolescents, aged 12 years and up who experience symptoms such as depression, anxiety, mood swings, difficulty with sleep, substance use disorders, and other behavior disruptions.
Connected in Community is a mental health and wellness practice born out of a desire to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to grieve, celebrate, and heal despite the complexities of the society we live in. The staff uses a blend of traditional psychotherapy informed by Critical Race Theory, Feminism, Abolition, Queer inclusion, and other liberation-centered ideas to guide their work.
You may be reading this because you are struggling. Struggling through school, a loss, a break up, or just... life. You may be tired of everyone telling you to just get over it, or tired of everyone telling you they just don't get it. You need someone to relate. You need someone who gets it. Challenges that come in life are tough, and I entered this field because I went through those challenges, and if we’re honest, I struggled too. I felt alone, but I'm here now to tell you that you don't have to feel that way too. I will meet you where you are in your walk of life right now. I’ve helped clients not just through tough chapters, but to excel and be there best selves for what comes next. I have a passion for helping people like you achieve these goals, and I look forward to hearing how I can support you in your journey. Let's talk soon, so you can tell me a bit about your situation and get all your questions answered.

You have a story to tell. A story about you. It is a story full of hope, joy, confusion, and at times pain. Right now, you may be in that experience of confusion or pain, and feel unsure of how to make good decisions, or any decision at all. I would be honored to hear that story and journey with you as you seek to put new puzzle pieces together to find peace and clarity. All my clients (individual and couple) will come to understand their behavioral responses caused by our internal experiences of pain, what we refer to as our pain cycle. We will then map out new opportunities for personal responsibility and predictability, referred to as our peace cycle, and seek together how to practice and strengthen making decisions within our peace cycle instead of making decisions while coping with our pain cycle.

Hello! I am Dr. Ashleigh Woods. I enjoy providing effective, quality mental health care to individuals and their families. The foundation of my practice rests on building meaningful connections with patients by valuing each person's unique experiences and goals. In therapy, I work with my patients to create an open and nonjudgmental space for them to explore their concerns. I am confident I can help you find your possibilities within life's limitations. I hope you take some time to read more about the services I offer. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. NOTE: Please see my website for rates. I received my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2011. I have trained and practiced in a variety of clinical settings including private practice, university counseling centers, inpatient settings, residential/intensive outpatient treatment settings, and community mental health. I serve as President for the Indiana Society for Psychoanalytic Thought (ISPT), local Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of APA. Whenever you may feel overwhelmed by life, making a decision to participate in emotional therapy sessions can be beneficial. Collaborating with a trained professional to manage the complexity of what you may be facing has been proven to be effective in learning life-long skills. These skills and experiences can help in building your own wisdom in life to better live in ways that fit what you value and what is important to you
I work best with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or trying to make sense of a lot of emotions at once. You might be navigating big transitions, relationship stress, academic pressure, or feeling unsure about who you are or what comes next. Sometimes everything looks “fine” on the outside, but internally it feels heavy or hard to manage. The students I work with are often thoughtful and self-aware, but may feel stuck, overthinking, or emotionally drained. They’re looking for a space where they can slow down, understand what they’re feeling, and learn how to manage stress in a way that actually works for them. If you’re open to exploring your experiences, building emotional awareness, and finding more balance and clarity, we would likely be a good fit.
Welcome! I'm Emily Koehler, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Indiana. I am trained in EMDR, Yoga for 12 Step Recovery, Daring to Rest, and Yoga for Trauma. I take a holistic approach to mental health and wellness. I especially love to work with college students who tend to be high achievers and perfectionists, and want to find a way of living that honors their true nature and strengths. Our sessions may include mindfulness practices, exploring what works best for YOU. I enjoy supporting clients as they learn to listen to their inner wisdom and gain clarity on next right steps. It takes courage to reach out for support, and I look forward to working with you.
I have a particular passion for working with young adults in the midst of life transitions, those struggling with their relationship with food/their bodies, & those who have a desire to process through previous trauma. My training includes EMDR, which focuses on healing from the symptoms of emotional distress that are a result of difficult life experiences.

It's uncomfortable to reach out for help, to reveal our pain and personal matters to anyone, let alone a stranger. This is why my priority is creating a safe, judgment free space to build a genuine connection with my clients. In addition to developing strategies to relieve immediate distress, I apply my 15 years in mental health, from home-based to hospital crisis work, to help you identify the reasons behind your struggles and resolve the underlying causes. This provides the framework for positive growth and a deeper understanding of oneself, for lasting results. I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs and therapeutic goals. You are the expert on your life and your experiences, and my role is to provide support, help you gain insight into any self-limiting beliefs, all while gently steering you in the right direction. Everything we need for growth is already inside us; it's just a matter of finding it. I have thorough knowledge of anxiety, depression, and identifying/treating suicidal ideation, serving as clinical educator for a large crisis dept. My extensive training on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy provides a foundation for my work. I'd like to make the process of starting therapy as easy as possible and invite a conversation on how I might help you.
