Hello. I have extensive experience working with college students and the challenges they face. I worked in university counseling centers for all my career before going into private practice. My approach is primarily relational, yet integrating practical skills is integral to my philosophy of change. A therapeutic relationship is fundamental to effectively working together in therapy. Relationships with ourselves and others are the foundation of creating security and joy, for taking risks and creating success, and for becoming aligned with a set of values and ethics that bring meaning and purpose to our lives. Challenges are best met when we are in relationship and understand how to be relational across domains. I am grateful for the opportunity to join you in working towards any personal, professional, educational, or spiritual/existential goals.
Hi! I fundamentally believe you are whole, unbroken and perfect, and I also imagine you might not believe that about yourself sometimes. I work with students experiencing a wide range of challenges including: depression, anxiety, trauma, insomnia and the struggle to love the body one lives in. I use the tools of yoga, embodiment, mindfulness, meditation, and nervous system support to approach healing and integration. As a mental health therapist, certified yoga therapist and ketamine-assisted therapist I work from trauma-sensitive, consent-based and liberatory approaches, and I am committed to you experiencing agency, empowerment and freedom.
the collective reclamation project is a healing space for: identity dialogue, deconstructing social systems and norms, culturally relevant ritual, reconnecting to ancestral wisdom, climate grief, displacement grief, adoption grief, ambiguous grief, tending soul wounds, creating community care and community-centered practices, defining consent, touching liminality and multiplicity, speaking truths, supporting abolition, exploring intersectionality, finding creativity, structuring a healing plan, exploring relational complexity and diversity, unpacking power and privilege, feeling into gender, locating sexuality, finding focus, learning to co-create and co-construct within relationship, experiencing mirroring that makes sense, experiencing the felt body, finding room to breathe, finding liberation, finding joy and finding self love.
My goal is to be a warm and encouraging presence as you share your struggles and daily challenges, identify your strengths and areas of growth, and pave a way forward towards achieving your goals. My intent is to assist you in the incredible process of healing and empowerment. I firmly believe that you already have everything you need within yourself to heal and find the answers you are seeking. I am honored to support you in accessing this part of yourself so that you may move beyond your current perceived limitations.
My clients seek me out for many different reasons, including (but not limited to) mood, anxiety, and stress disorders; adjustment difficulties; and relationship and family-of-origin concerns. Sometimes, they just know they're stuck or lost and need help. I use evidence-based approaches (i.e., what we know to be effective with certain concerns) to help clients gain awareness of the interactions between their thoughts, feelings, and behavior; recognize the influences that have shaped these patterns; and develop the knowledge and skills to respond, rather than react, to them. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, and disordered eating. To support clients in these areas, I am certified in EMDR, trained in brainspotting, and a level 2-trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. Additionally, I work from a non-dieting, Health At Every Size framework that is affirming of body size diversity. I offer a safe, collaborative space that balances compassion and challenge, within which we can work together to understand the concerns you are experiencing and identify new, more effective ways to meet your needs. If you think I might be a good fit for you, please call, text, or email me to schedule a free, 20-minute phone consultation.

You are enough. There is nothing wrong with your body. You have always been deserving of love, respect, and softness. Yes, even you! Whether it’s strengthening your relationship with yourself through developing more self-compassion, guiding you in how to communicate more effectively with your partner, or helping you navigate a rough conflict with your best friend, I am here to provide you with non-judgmental support every step of the way. My clients are often fat folks, queer besties, sex workers, and people experiencing chronic pain or chronic illness. This is a space for you to be seen, heard, and validated in your beauty and complexity. I will always be transparent with you about the ins and outs of the therapeutic process because I believe that collaboration and consent are vital to creating safety and trust in our time together. I view therapy as a potential cozy space for corrective, reparative experiences that can start to soften clients’ inner experiences. That’s the whole idea behind the name “Soft Spot”: melting away the hardness that our society or trauma forces unto us and, in place, deepening into more of the lovely softness that’s always been there. You get to delight in the pleasure of being you.
We move through our days like houses filled with locked rooms, some we have never entered, some we have sealed off ourselves. We tell ourselves stories about why we cannot move forward, about the things that press against us—unseen but insistent. And yet, no one is truly alone. We are shaped by the hands and voices of others, by the echoes of what was said and unsaid. Change, is not a solitary act. My work is to sit with you in the quiet, to help you unlatch the doors, to sweep away the dust and debris of what holds you back. You do not need to become someone else—only to step fully into yourself. I also specialize in guiding those with ADHD through the labyrinth of daily life and helping people find clarity in their careers.

It feels like no matter how hard you try, somehow you always end up right back where you started. Plagued by nagging self-doubts that say you aren’t good enough, strong enough, or smart enough, you wonder how anyone could really love you. Fearful that if other people knew the “real” you, they’d turn away. Bending and contorting yourself to be what others think you should be, you end up feeling anxious or depressed most of the time. And then there are those experiences that you don’t talk about. The shame and guilt are too much. Every day feels harder than the last with no end in sight. You don’t have to live that way anymore. I will teach you the skills to identify the thoughts and beliefs that are getting in your way, the steps to change them, and a new way to see yourself and your experiences. I won’t lie, this is hard work. But it will be so much easier than staying stuck. You can do this and I will be by your side supporting you. Now is the time to step into a new chapter in your life. Experience an inner voice that is encouraging and hopeful. Hold yourself with compassion and care. Embrace your authentic self. Feel free, hopeful and happy.
