Therapists for college students near 30309
My practice is designed for students who want a grounded, compassionate place to sort through the noise and reconnect with themselves. I understand how isolating it can feel to struggle silently while still trying to show up for school, deadlines, and the people who depend on you. Therapy with me is collaborative, warm, and practical. Together, we explore what’s weighing on you, build coping skills that actually fit your life, and create room for confidence, clarity, and emotional steadiness. Whether you’re adjusting to a new environment, managing academic stress, healing from past experiences, or simply trying to understand yourself better, you deserve support that honors your story and meets you where you are. My goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward with resilience and self‑trust.

We offer effective outpatient, individualized mental health and trauma-focused short-term counseling & long-term psychotherapy. We are a culturally divers duo and inherently love supporting diversity, culture, connection, and community. We genuinely love what we do. With over 20 years of practice between us, we have extensive experience serving a diversity of races and ethnicities, spiritual orientations, sexual identities, expressions of gender, and intimate relationship frameworks. We are sex and kink positive. As practitioners, we have significant experience teaching and supporting power exchange frameworks such as those found in BDSM. We do not work with anyone under 18yo. Our Focus Our process is to help you navigate the never-straight, often meandering path of healing through your lived experience and history. We suggest that healing is learning to expand your capacity for resilience, and create space to be present with what is present. To do that work, we offer you a space of non-judgement (we changed this from "neutral", because life isn't). We work with you to cultivate relative therapeutic safety, promote empathy, and individualize our treatment and approach based on your journey. Our Mission We want to help you learn that healing is not a static point, to empower you to flourish, and to support you as you discover your life.

When it is time for you to begin healing from pain and creating a hope for the hurting I am here to assist and provide a Christ centered approach helping you discover the new you. It is important to help you make change for your future and help to restore broken relationships. As part of seeking help finding balance is a central theme to the restoration efforts that are used to help you become whole again. Help for those who struggle with stress and depression as they look to restore a life in balance. It can be scary to reach out to a counselor and discuss the problems that you are facing. I understand the fear of coming for help. I offer you the ability to make your own appointments online from anywhere you have internet access. This keeps you in control and offers you the chance to take the steps that you feel safe making.
There is a part of me that feels extremely anxious. There is a part of me that gets really sad and down at times. There is a part of part of me that can hardly get out of bed some days. There is a part of me that needs to take care of everyone and everything. There is a part of me that wants to check out and escape from all the responsibilities I have. There is a part of me that thinks about dying and a part of me that wants to live. There is a part of me that …. How many times have we all had these feelings or thoughts that come over us that seem conflicting at times but represent how we are feeling in the moment. Understanding our parts even those that are contradictory, being able to validate and accept our parts, and creating balance and space for our parts mentally can be attained through therapy. Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is designed to allow us to heal from our pain, hurt, and fears by managing the parts that have been created out of our traumas. We have all experienced trauma in some form, and we all have parts that have been borne from those traumas. Parts that help us manage our daily lives and parts that may tend to disrupt our lives, but all of these parts are valid and serve some self-protective purpose and can be managed once they are understood. You’re lying awake late at night, stuck in your own head, wishing you could just turn it off. The worry loops won’t stop. The what-ifs keep coming. Maybe you’re caught in rituals, mental checks, reassurance-seeking, or avoidance that feels impossible to explain to anyone else. You’ve tried to push through it, distract yourself, calm yourself down, or “be logical,” but it keeps coming back. And at some point, you start to wonder if this is just how life is going to feel. It doesn’t have to be. This is where I come in. I help young adults untangle anxiety and OCD in a way that actually leads to change, not just temporary relief. My work is practical, direct, and focused on helping you get your life back, not just manage symptoms forever. The goal isn’t to make anxiety disappear overnight. It’s to stop organizing your life around it. General therapy often isn’t enough for OCD and severe anxiety. It can feel supportive, but the patterns stay the same. That’s why I use targeted, evidence-based approaches that are designed specifically for anxiety disorders, OCD, and phobias. I also work with LGBTQ+ clients and support young adults struggling with self-harm or suicidal thoughts in a way that is honest, grounded, and focused on real change. If anxiety, OCD, or fear is running your life, or quietly shrinking it, you don’t have to handle it alone. You deserve support that actually makes sense for what you’re dealing with. Reach out to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation and we can talk about what’s going on and what real help could look like for you.
Life can often feel messy and chaotic. My passion is to help bring order out of chaos to facilitate growth and peace. Many of my clients present with concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stressful life transitions and circumstances, or they report feeling a little “off” and are seeking help to feel more like themselves again. I work best with clients who are engaged and motivated to see changes in their lives, and I have a great love for coming alongside people to help them move towards becoming the best version of themselves. My goal is shalom, the Hebrew word for peace, wholeness and universal flourishing. Operating from a strengths-based perspective, I work to create a safe environment and partner with clients to help empower and equip them to face life’s challenges, while creating meaning for themselves along the way. If you’re feeling stuck and are looking for a way to help jumpstart your life, I am just a quick message or brief consultation away!

My practice specializes in providing clinical counseling and consulting services for diverse populations from a systemic lens. I provide individual and family counseling, evaluations for ADHD & autism, forensic family law evaluations, as well as clinical supervision for Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy interns seeking licensure in Florida. I focus my clinical work on helping adolescents and teens under stress and adults who have lived through difficult times as children. This means that many of my clients identify as Gen-Z, millennials, and high-achieving professionals who have experienced trauma in their families of origin and desire to seek and engage in healthier relationships with themselves and with others. In the last few years as my practice has become more specialized, a common denominator is that many of my clients are exploring their brain style and its accompanying traits. Consequently, my ideal client is someone exploring how their ADHD, giftedness, and/or autism are impacting their school & work performance, their mental & physical health, and their relationships. Neurodiversity affirming therapy is a client-centered approach that recognizes the diversity of human experience and promotes acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with neurological differences. As a result, my therapeutic approach is strengths-based, supportive, goal-oriented, and trauma-informed. As a systemic therapist, that means addressing diversity, gender, power, and other sociocultural dimensions is an inherent part of the work we will do together. My own lived experience combined with over a decade of working with neurodivergent individuals and their families allows me to bring unique perspective and empathy to the therapeutic space. You might like my style if you are craving- or even open to – exploration of your inner child, befriending your body, gaining emotional intelligence, and navigating healthier relationships.

Are you feeling anxious! I can give you a good understanding of neuroscience, how your brain works, and techniques so that you can better manage your anxiety. I enjoy helping college students gain a better understanding of how thoughts and experiences influence emotions and so I will provide you with practical feedback on your own thoughts/emotions to guide you in reaching your goals. I offer therapy with or without a Christian perspective. Your choice. No judgement from me, only support and encouragement to help you manage your difficulties.

Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always asking why me. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. Others you want to burst into tears or moments you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life.
