Both of our providers have previously worked in a college counseling center and have expertise working with college students.
I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, and relationship issues. I understand how trauma, childhood attachment, family of origin dynamics, and harm within our social/cultural/political systems underly many of these struggles. And I know how these painful experiences can disconnect you from yourself, your loved ones, and the joys of life. Together, we will explore the patterns that keep you stuck, understand their roots, and learn new ways of navigating life's challenges. Our work will help you restore a sense of agency and reconnection to your authentic, grounded Self that's innate to us all. My approach is relational, collaborative, and attachment-based. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR and integrate these models for powerful trauma processing and self-exploration. I support clients to shift from intellectualizing into more experiential understanding of your emotions, body, and life experiences. My clients describe me as warm, attuned, and able to hold them in all of their complexity. I don't view my role as "fixing" or giving advice, but to hold, support, and challenge you to create the changes you want in life. I look forward to getting to know you!
I am a relational therapist who emphasizes a social justice approach to my work. I believe that to truly, deeply understand ourselves, we must look at the larger context within which we operate. In the therapy room, I strive to support you as you explore your own history and identity with curiosity, warmth, and care. I apply a trauma-informed lens to provide affirming care, as I believe that a respectful, supportive relationship is a key aspect of facilitating growth and self-acceptance. I am especially effective at working with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and ASD, alongside life transitions and gender and sexuality explorations. I hold a doctorate from Widener University in Clinical Psychology, and also a Masters in Education in Human Sexuality. Throughout my training and career I have developed a speciality in working with the queer and trans community, individuals, couples, poly-relationship styles, and families. As a therapist, I believe in using an integrative, multicultural, intersectional approach wherein my clients are welcome to explore difficult or private subjects including self-image, trauma, relationships, and a variety of other topics.

Throughout our lives, experiences we have can lead us to feel disconnected in various ways, from our own sense of self and values, important people in our life, and our emotions. This disconnection can result in feelings of loneliness and isolation, lack of motivation, overwhelming anxiety, or uncertainty about who we are and what we want in life and it often leads to unhealthy ways of coping (e.g., emotional eating, focusing too much on work, lack of self-care, etc.). My focus in working with clients is to help them reconnect with themselves, with others, and with their emotions so that they can lead a more satisfying life filled with meaningful relationships and purpose. My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in a modern psychodynamic orientation. As such, I value the development of a strong therapeutic relationship and meaningful connection with clients. Together, we work on understanding unhealthy patterns and improve ability to cope with distress, manage multiple life roles, live a more balanced life, and connect more fully with emotions. I am especially passionate about working with college-aged students and athletes who may be experiencing eating and/or body image concerns, as well as issues related to men and masculinity. . I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Penn State University and completed my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Penn State University.
