I'm Sandi Christiansen (she/her/hers), a Licensed Professional Counselor through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at Saint Joseph's University, and my Master's in Clinical & Counseling Psychology at Chestnut Hill College with a specialization in Child & Adolescent Counseling. I have been licensed since 2010, and have been working in the field of mental health and substance use disorders for almost 15 years. I recognize the vulnerability and strength it takes to decide to start going to therapy and begin making changes. Whether you're a college student struggling with friendships, a young adult managing life and its stressors, a parent of a child experiencing anxiety...it's hard to know where to start. I'm here to help you navigate! I utilize strength-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with elements of a psychodynamic approach (touching on attachment, relationship, and behavior patterns through the lens of object relations theory). I maintain unconditional positive regard for my clients, and offer what I hope will become a safe space for people to talk about difficult things. Together, we will set achievable, measurable goals for your future as well as gaining a better understanding of your past. I pride myself on my professionalism and experience, but most importantly I have been told over and over again that I am relatable, approachable, and non-judgmental. I tell my clients all the time -- I am the expert in the field, but you are the expert on your own life. If any of this resonates with you, we might be a good fit to work together. Please feel comfortable reaching out to set up a complimentary 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your next step.

I love being a therapist and helping individuals develop a deeper understanding of, and connection to, themselves and others. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship based on acceptance, trust, and empathic understanding, where individuals feel safe, heard, valued and empowered to heal and make the positive changes for which they desire. I use a variety of methods in my work, including relational, cognitive, behavioral, and emotion-focused interventions in an integrative fashion to address each person's unique concerns. With children, I incorporate developmentally-sensitive interventions and mediums for self-expression. I offer treatment for a variety of concerns, inc. stress, anxiety, depression, identity and adjustment concerns, and relationship issues. I specialize in treating survivors of interpersonal trauma and have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and various forms of childhood maltreatment. I have experience conducting therapy and assessment in a variety of settings (college counseling, RTF, community mental health, crisis mobile response, schools) across the continuum of age and functioning. I have training and experience in therapy modalities to treat PTSD, including TF-CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure.

I use hypnotherapy as a means to help people heal from the inside out. After spending 20 years practicing as a physician healing patient's bodies, I now focus on the mind and mental health. Every human has the responsibility and the ability to love and care for themselves as much as they care for others in the world. Good mental health is the key to good physical health and to living a full, engaging life. I help people who suffer from negative self-talk, negative self-image and teach people how to find their true selves beneath all the distracting chatter that tends to go on in our heads. Inner freedom therapy's technique works well for anxiety or physical symptoms or pain that worsens at times of stress. It also works well to help you stop unwanted habits. I offer a free consultation and discussion with a link on my website, or give me a call or email to meet and discuss if you are a good match for Inner Freedom Therapy programs.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Ridley Park, PA

Hi! I’m Kimberly Carlin, LPC, and I work with women over 18 who want support navigating the ups and downs of life. Between work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope. I help women work through: * Anxiety, stress, and burnout * Relationship challenges and setting boundaries * Trauma or emotional abuse * Grief or major life transitions * Body image and disordered eating * Pressure to be “perfect” or meet high expectations * Life transitions such as parenting, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities Here’s what therapy with me looks like: CBT: Helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. ACT: Teaches you to accept feelings and focus on what matters most. Somatic Therapy: Uses your body to release stored stress, tension, and anxiety. IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you explore different parts of yourself and understand conflicting thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Inner Child Work: Helps you understand how past experiences shape your feelings today. EMDR: A specialized approach that helps painful memories feel less overwhelming. Christian Counseling and Prayer (optional): For women who desire, therapy can integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and exploring God’s perspective of who you are to guide healing, self-worth, and decision-making. I provide online therapy and am licensed in multiple states, so you can continue care even if you travel, work remotely or move. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build tools to navigate life with more confidence, self-compassion, and faith-based guidance if desired. Whether you’re feeling stressed, struggling with relationships, wanting to process trauma, or navigating major life transitions, I’m here to support you. I am a warm, affirming, non-judgmental psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, and I work with an interactive, relational, humanistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and transparent approach. I believe that people have the innate capacity to heal and change. We will work together to develop a deeper understanding of your life goals and perspectives, so that we can custom-tailor techniques to make your life most meaningful for you. We will work together toward resolving life challenges by identifying your personal strengths, coping strategies, and by helping you to see things in your life from a different lens. I exclusively offer tele-therapy (phone and zoom video sessions for individuals, couples/relationships and families). I support individuals and couples as they work through a range of challenges and life situations including: school-related stressors, anxiety, new and changing relationships, life transitions, explorations of identity, school/college life adjustment, illness, fertility treatments/ART, donor conceived individuals, adoption, parenting, care givers, communication issues. I work with the LGBTQ+ community, and provide gender-affirming support for transgender & non-binary individuals. I am an LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity/neurodivergence affirming therapist. I use a traditional therapeutic modality (cognitive behavioral) in conjunction with a Mindfulness based approach. Clients learn to self regulate emotions as they learn to achieve their personal goals. Life will become more meaningful and fulfilling when the individual aligns with a purpose that feels authentic and valuable.

Welcome to Empirical Embrace Counseling! I became a therapist because I understand what it feels like to be in the throes of mental illness while also navigating the ups and downs of life - and how isolating that can be. I want all of my clients to feel safe when they are in the therapy room with me. I want them to know that they have me in their corner to support, guide, and advocate for them. My clients inspire me every. single. day. and I am truly passionate about my work. I am extensively trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments for OCD, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma. Some of these treatment modalities include Exposure/Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Enhanced for ED's, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and general Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression. The most important thing to me in the therapy room is my relationship with my client. I approach this with compassion and empathy and most importantly, meeting my clients where they are. Holding the space for my clients to experience life's ups and downs is one of my greatest strengths.
