College and grad school can bring a lot of pressure—and for many students, that can show up in their relationship with food and their body. Between academic stress, social comparison, changing routines, and campus culture, it's common for body image concerns and eating disorder symptoms to become more intense. As an eating disorder registered dietitian, I provide compassionate, trauma-informed nutrition counseling from a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) and All Foods Fit approach. Whether you're struggling with an eating disorder, chronic dieting, body image, or simply want to feel more at peace with food, I'm here to help you build a healthier, more flexible relationship with eating and with yourself. I also lead Yoga for Embodiment and offer virtual sessions for Illinois and Oregon residents.
College can be a lot. You’re figuring out who you are and what you want, while also trying to keep up with classes, relationships, responsibilities, and everyone’s expectations—including your own. Sometimes things that felt manageable before suddenly don’t, or experiences from your past start showing up in ways you didn’t expect. I enjoy working with students who want a place to slow down, be themselves, and make sense of what they’re feeling. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you want from therapy. Maybe you know something needs to change, or you just want to understand yourself better. We can start there. I’ll meet you with warmth, curiosity, and respect for who you are and what you’ve been through. Together, we can explore what’s getting in the way, notice what you need, and help you feel more connected to yourself and the life you want to create.
I offer a safe and consistent virtual space for adults of all ages to work through current stress, manage issues like anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, and to resolve past trauma. My practice offers flexibility and the option to heal in an environment you can control, while my skills and experience allow me to foster a connection between us that is real and lasting. My clients often use the space to process their needs, to practice creating conscious connection between their minds and bodies, and to explore strategies that will offer them freedom and relief from traumatic stress. We'll have purposeful conversations that help build insight and clarity around your thoughts, feelings, and other internal experiences. Using virtual, trauma informed strategies based on current neuroscience such as EMDR, you can resolve past trauma, often leading to improvements in mood, energy levels, and ability to manage daily stress. Whether you're processing your experiences or learning new strategies, our sessions will take on a predictable, reliable flow that you can count on for help and support. If you have the sense we’d be a good fit for your needs, please feel free to reach out to set up a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
I provide empathetic, personalized support to college students who are working to adjust to a college environment, managing new and difficult social situations, or working on themselves and discovering their identity now that they are away from home. My approach tends to be more casual and less clinical. I'm excited to help students explore any new and challenging areas they are facing in college.

Hi there! I'm Sarah, an artist, art therapist and mental health counselor. Talking to a new person about the hards parts of your life can feel deeply vulnerable! I aim to make the process of coming to therapy easy by making folks feel respected, safe, and understood. I provide space where people can be human, laugh/cry, share truths, and practice new skills. My goal is to bring a warm presence, calm demeanor, and intentionality to the therapeutic space. I understand that building connection and rapport are the foundation to all other therapeutic work and therefore I prioritize an environment where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood without judgement. My purpose as a therapist is to provide that safe place where together we can explore your conscious and unconscious thoughts and gain insight into the parts of your life where you may be having difficulty. Thus, I will work with you to understand your unique life experiences and create a tailored treatment plan so that you can reach healing and wholeness. I will assist you on this journey by helping you understand how past experiences are impacting you, and will help you identify your own strengths, skills, and goals by providing tools that you can use even long after therapy is finished. Welcome to my practice. College is a massive transition-- a time of building new independence, finding where you belong, and figuring out who you are going to become. It can also feel overwhelming, lonely, and stressful. I am a licensed clinical psychologist here to help you with it all. My practice centers on Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). This is a collaborative, real-world approach focused on your relationships and daily life. Together, we will look at how your connections-- with roommates, family, partners, or professors-- impact how you feel, and work on communication tools to help you set boundaries, resolve conflicts, and feel heard. Outside of my clinical work, I serve as a board member for Rose Children's Theatre. That background means I deeply value creativity, authentic expression, and the power of storytelling. I know that life can sometimes feel like a performance where you are forced to play a role that doesn't fit. In our sessions, there is no script and no audience. It is a completely authentic, judgment-free place to explore your thoughts and build self-confidence. Whether you are dealing with burnout, relationship drama, identity questions, or deeper questions of meaning, you don't have to figure it out alone. Let's work together to write your next chapter.
I am so excited to offer both counseling and clinical supervision services within my practice. I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist. I have worked extensively in community behavioral health settings and have a wealth of experience to share with licensee's. I believe that people are resilient and that being alongside a person through their own individual journey is a sacred honor. I work with clients to strengthen and foster healing, growth, health and wellness. My theoretical framework is person centered and I tailor my interventions to the individual client. I have a passion for assisting my clients to reach a state of peacefulness after years of battling their bodies. To actively live everyday with compassion and love for their body, mind and spirit. To heal, be present and take joy in being alive as a perfectly imperfect human being. I use a HAES (health at every size) approach. I work from a positive psychology and trauma informed lens and I use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing. I hold unconditional positive regard for all people and strive to create a healing environment that is safe, accepting and affirming.
I love working with people who aspire toward self actualization. Sometimes staying emotionally regulated can gets in the way of having a clear understanding and experience in day to day life. Modern culture has a way of throwing us ups and downs, but I have good news: There are ways to obtain equanimity, compassion (for yourself and others) and even joy in the process. In my practice, I won't be trying to "fix" you, rather we will be on a journey together to help you obtain more of the life you want to be living.
“It’s always best to believe in one’s self, but a little help from others can be a great blessing!” I view each person as the main character in their book of life. Each book contains stories of joy, sadness, exploration, struggle, and most importantly, HOPE. My goal to assist in exploring these stories, whether you encounter depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, intersectional struggles, or self-esteem issues...I am especially sensitive to those impacted by LGBTQ issues, religious minorities, activists, uniformed public servants, and those experiencing depression. I utilize a multiculturally sensitive approach, borrowing from ACT, DBT, MBCT, mindfulness, narrative, and solution-focused therapies to develop a collaborative and eclectic style to treatment, tailored to your needs. Cultures all over the world have a common truth: life is suffering. Through therapy, I hope to create a safe and empowering environment to help you withstand and overcome that suffering. I welcome you to reach out to start this journey.
I primarily support LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC adults who struggle with being their full, authentic selves navigate challenging systems and relationships. Clients often come to me worried that by making meaningful changes in their lives, they are being selfish. They might find themselves in work environments that are unsupportive, relationships they feel unfulfilled by, and friendships that seem unbalanced. It's a frustrating cycle, and they want their lives to be different, but are unsure how. After working with me, clients find themselves feeling more able to care for themselves, find joy in being with others, and feel more at peace with themselves. I approach therapy collaboratively and value humor, identity, and compassionate honesty in the therapeutic relationship. I also provide Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems treatment for trauma and provide letters for gender-affirming medical services. I know how frustrating it is to be unheard and unseen. I would love to help you explore how to better engage with yourself and others to become more authentically you. I have a social justice orientation and am affirming of all genders, sexualities, body sizes, and differing relationship structures. If any of the above spoke to you, let's chat!
I am an evidence-based therapist who incorporates mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral strategies to tailor therapy to your needs. I will help you understand how to be more present-focused, how to set yourself up for success, and how to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs that hold you back from living a genuine life. I am a goal-oriented therapist. In the initial stages of therapy, we will work together to identify and clarify goals. Then, I'll help you learn new skills or tools to make those goals a reality. Finally, we'll work on reducing the likelihood of similar issues coming up in the future. Please feel free to email me through Psychology Today even if my profile says I'm full. I save a few weekend spaces specifically for students.
