I offer a strengths-based approach to therapy that is tailored to each individual's needs. I work with adults navigating challenges with executive function, emotional regulation, unhelpful behavior patterns, trauma, confidence, and communication and am experienced working with LGBTQIA+ clients and expansive relationship structures. I am currently accepting a limited number of new clients and maintain a waitlist.
Everyone faces challenges in life. But those challenges can be amplified during life transitions, such as seeking higher education. Anxiety, worry, and frustration are common reactions. Some days it can be hard to find hope amidst the stress of just trying to get through the day. My therapeutic techniques are enacted with collaboration and compassion and individualized to your needs. I use many techniques commonly found in applied behavior analysis (ABA), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These can include goal setting, functional behavioral assessment, mindfulness skills, direct instruction, role-play and rehearsal, thought records, data review, journaling, and exploration of personal values. Together we will identify and use your strengths to make the changes that help you reach your goals.
We provide therapy services for adults ages 18+ with anxiety, depression, adjustment and adjustment to cognitive concerns (Executive dysfunction, ADHD, learning disorders). Recommendations for specific strategies to improve functioning are created based on the results of neuropsychological assessment. Psychotherapy is also available for ages 17+ for a wide range of mental health and medical adjustment concerns. Executive functioning coaching is available.
Hi! My name is Samantha Fontana, a licensed mental health counselor at Spotless Mind Mental Health Counseling. I collaboratively work with young adults and adults to improve their mental health by utilizing an integrated and evidence-based treatment approach. Psychodynamic talk therapy, CBT, DBT, ERP, and psychoeducation are just a few of the treatment approaches that I incorporate, as I believe therapy should be individualized for you. You may feel stuck sometimes, have trouble understanding your emotions, or need some help sorting out your thoughts, but the good news is you do not have to do it alone. Mental health affects every part of your life, and I am here to provide a safe, empathetic, and judgement-free space to explore and express what you are experiencing. It is important to talk about your feelings and experiences, and by examining them together, we can address any concerns regarding anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or negative thoughts, to name a few. We can then work on building coping skills to help you deal with life’s stressors. I look forward to helping guide you along your journey to a happier and healthier mental well-being.
I specialize in helping adolescents and adults who struggle with or are impaired by depression and other mood disorders, anxiety and adjustment disorders, self esteem issues, grief resulting from loss and post traumatic stress. I will also incorporate use of mindfulness, emotional freedom technique (tapping), breathwork, muscle relaxation and a person centered/strengths based approach.

I’m not a “nod quietly and ask how that makes you feel” kind of therapist. I’m here to be present, ask meaningful questions, and help you sort through what’s keeping you stuck. My clients describe me as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. My goal is to make therapy a place where you feel safe showing up exactly as you are, messiness and all.

Do you struggle with daily negative thoughts and low mood? School or work stress? Feeling hopeless about the future and wondering if you will ever feel better? If so, I think we could be a good fit together in therapy. In sessions, I utilize a mix of actively listening and offering concrete tools to help you feel better and reach your goals. These tools are from research-backed treatments called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I also enjoy incorporating my sense of humor and positive demeanor to help you feel understood and motivated during our treatment together. I am licensed in New York and Massachusetts. My practice is currently virtual. In addition to my private practice, I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, where I teach psychology and psychiatry graduate students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and see whether I would be a good fit for your therapy goals.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and a psychoanalyst, specializing in work with individuals suffering from mood disorders, addiction, trauma, and identity issues. I have a sensitivity for the dilemmas of young adults as they struggle to find "true self" expression integrated with the demands for compromise and conformity they face, both externally and internally. I am all too familiar with how so many struggles boil down to the same deep needs: to be seen, supported, understood, or safe. I help people reclaim their energy from the runaway train of their thoughts and the demands of those they care about so they can live with more focus, calm, and control. That means learning to let go of "doing it right" in favor of doing what actually works for you. By separating your sense of worth from how much you give to others, you end your people-pleasing behaviors and work on setting healthy boundaries that protect your energy without the crushing weight of guilt that usually follows. I believe there’s no one right path or set agenda we’re supposed to follow. Sometimes, the best steps we take are the ones that don’t make sense to anyone else, but that feel undeniably true to us. That’s what I help my clients find: a way forward that’s grounded, self-directed, and shaped by who they are, not who they were told to be.
Making the choice to pursue therapy is an investment in yourself. Therapy is a journey that is shaped by the relationship established between the therapist and the client. Regardless of how the pursuit of therapy evolved, I aim to establish a relationship based on trust, honesty, humor, and respect. These qualities are imperative in working through the difficulties that can disrupt life and relationships. Together we will work toward the fulfillment of your goals and potential.
The transition to college can feel overwhelming, exciting and full of possibility, yet also uncertain and stressful. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating this new chapter while managing academic pressure, identity exploration, and changing relationships. As the daughter of immigrants, I have a deep passion for supporting immigrants and first-generation Americans. I understand the unique challenges that can come with balancing family expectations, cultural values, and personal goals. I strive to create a space where all parts of your experience are welcomed and understood. My approach to therapy is collaborative and relationship-centered. I believe that a strong, trusting connection is the foundation of meaningful work. I take time to get to know you and tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic strategies to create a personalized and supportive experience. Together, we will identify an approach that feels right for you and supports your growth, resilience, and well-being.
I worked in college counseling for four years, (2021-2025) and understand the unique challenges students face along with the systemic factors that can greatly impact students. Your mental health and wellbeing is essential for navigating the college experience, and you deserve support through this journey. When working together, we usually focus on whatever is most pressing for you. For some, this looks like discussing an upsetting situation and processing the emotions they are feeling, then finding ways to make these emotions more manageable so that they can function in their day-to-day life. Other times, we focus more deeply on connecting patterns and themes that have developed over the course of your life and figuring out how to navigate the world differently. I often help students to better understand and identify their feelings by pausing, slowing down, and connecting the mind and the body. We can work on how to handle distressing feelings without constant avoidance or distractions, how to communicate more effectively, and how to create meaning and wholeness. If you feel anxious, depressed, stressed out, and are having difficulty with managing all of the things you're trying to balance between your personal life and academic responsibilities, reach out and I am happy to connect and see if we'd be a good fit.
Are you struggling to manage your stress? Keep falling into the same types of patterns and relationships? It doesn't have to feel like this forever. A life filled with clarity, happiness, and understanding is just around the corner and I'd be honored to accompany you on that journey. Let me help you in navigating the hard parts of life so you can move towards exploring what brings you joy. My specialties are supporting parents as well as teens and adults dealing with stress and anxiety. Together, we will work to understand your strengths alongside what's standing in your way as you develop skills to grow. I'd love to help you in moving towards discovery and self-compassion so that you can step into a more satisfying life. Ready to take that next step? I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York with over 8 years of experience supporting teens, adults, and families through a wide range of life challenges. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.
