I'm currently working as a postdoctoral fellow. I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical & School Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Nebraska Mental Health Centers in Lincoln, Nebraska. At this site, I received an extensive generalist training in therapeutic practices and psychological assessments, addressing a wide array of psychopathologies and demographics. I provide therapy services from an integrative perspective, drawing primarily from Person-Centered, Attachment, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapies. This means our work together will prioritize creating a safe, empathetic space where your unique experiences are deeply understood and respected. We'll explore how early relationships and patterns might be influencing your present struggles and how to build more secure connections. Additionally, you'll learn practical skills to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, manage intense emotions and improve relationships, and cultivate mindfulness, acceptance, and a commitment to living in alignment with your values, even in the face of discomfort. My goal is to tailor our approach to your specific needs, empowering you with both insight and effective strategies for lasting change and a more fulfilling life. My significant experience in community mental health uniquely equips me to address anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, behavioral issues, parenting training, severe and persistent mental illness, and trauma across diverse child, adolescent, and adult populations. My background in the school setting further allows me to provide comprehensive wrap-around services for children and families. Last, I have done extensive research on minority stress, the impact it has on mental health in the LGBTQ+ community, and subsequent affirmative evidence-based treatments. My training has also prepared me to provide comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational evaluations. This helps clients gain diagnostic clarification and provides a direction for treatment services.

People come to me for support with worries, mood difficulties, adjustment to life changes, identity exploration or relationship issues, and to learn ways to both change and adapt. Whatever brings you to this process at this time, it’s important that you find someone you can develop a sense of safety and trust with in order to bring your full, authentic self to the work. The therapeutic connection is a huge part of successful therapy, so my work is first and foremost relational in nature, through which I help you define your goals and together develop a plan to meet them.

I specialize in working with survivors of childhood abuse and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). My training is extensive, including EMDRIA-approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), Internal Family Systems informed interventions (IFS), and couples therapy. I am committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community, offering support for gender-affirming surgery letter evaluations. My goal is to help you process the past so it no longer dictates your present, providing a space where you feel seen and supported. I offer specialized modalities to help process traumatic memories safely and effectively. In my work with couples and sexual health, I take a sex-positive, judgment-free approach, supporting clients through mismatched desire, intimacy barriers, and navigating non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory or open relationships. Whether we are using somatic techniques or cognitive tools, our work is always collaborative and tailored to your unique healing. Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in healing; ensuring a comfortable fit is a priority. In our first session, we will focus on building a foundation of safety and respect. We’ll discuss your history, current concerns, and future goals at a pace you are comfortable with. You can expect a professional yet warm environment where we identify the specific roadblocks you would like to overcome. By the end of our meeting, we will have a clear plan for moving forward towards your goals and you will leave with a sense of direction.

My core values are faith, family, social and economic justice. My worldview is quite simple. You see, I believe that everyone has a right to be in a good place mentally physically and spiritually. I find that I have evolved into a change agent - which is a natural profession for a social worker. The same steps that I have taken to secure my life, mentally physically and emotionally, are the very same steps I am willing to assist my patients/clients in taking. My specialties lie in my abilities to move a person or a family from a place of dysfunction to functionality. I strive to improve the quality of life those whom I counsel. My theoretical framework a solution focused, interwoven with resiliency theory, using a strength-based approach. I am just a chat away if you need me – 'how may I help you?"

Taking care of your mental health is one of the most compassionate things you can do. Expected, even positive life transitions tend to cause some level of stress and resistance. Those stressors can force us to operate in extreme ways causing experiences of fear or uncertainty, dissatisfaction in relationships, or an erratic relationship with food. Most clients I see are high achievers, perfectionists or people pleasers; To the average eye, they appear as though they have everything yet, they are struggling inside. These are people seeking change but are often fearful of what that will entail or where to start. I have spent 10+ years as a clinician, providing safe spaces for teens and adults to let their experiences be heard. I believe you're the expert on your own life however I can help you learn self-trust, regulate your emotions, release painful burdens, & build authentic relationships. I'm well-versed in IFS, Intergenerational, Relational & Trauma therapies. I’ve been described as “conversational” and “non-judgemental”. I use practical, therapeutic modalities, to help you build vital skills and create a life in line with your values. Like the Hummingbird, you will learn to be adaptable, have the stamina for whatever you come across, as well as honor and find joy in the small things. Start your journey today and set up a free 15-minute consutation.

I offer a collaborative, accepting, and reflective space where you can better understand yourself and what’s getting in the way of the life you want. I help people explore emotional and relational patterns with curiosity and self-compassion. Many of my clients come to me struggling with anxiety, depression, or challenges in their relationships. For some, these experiences have been present for a long time; for others, they feel new. I’m proud of the supportive environment I create, and I see it as the foundation of meaningful therapy. Our work is most effective when you feel safe enough to talk about what’s hard to say elsewhere and my primary goal is to help make that possible. My approach is grounded in the belief that real change comes through insight, self-awareness, and genuine human connection.

Does everything look "just fine", and no one gets how anxious, frustrated and checked out you feel in your studies, work or relationships? You’ve tried everything you can to fix things. Trauma, depression, pain, family and social pressure, anxiety, relationship issues; all these things can get you stuck in a cycle of unhappiness. These experiences may even have you seeking relief through overusing substances. You want someone to actually help you. You know that despite it being hard, you're willing to give this a try. I am dedicated to helping you improve your life, not just cope with it. You can feel connected, whole, energized and fulfilled, and I am here to help you. We may have all asked ourselves at one time or another..."How did I (or we) get here?" During these times, talking to someone who understands helps. I have helped many college students/young adults with adjusting to college life, academic stressors and relationship difficulties. I am skilled in helping students manage anxiety and depression. I believe that understanding you and the reasons you are seeking counseling as essential to our work together. We will employ practical strategies you can utilize outside of the office. Students will often ask me, "what is my homework?" It will feel empowering to work on your goals both in and outside of therapy.
