***VIRTUAL APPTS ONLY, WAITLIST AVAILABLE*** Are you hoping to better manage your mood, anxiety, health habits, or just day-to-day life? Do you ever feel challenged by certain relationships, cultural differences, personal gains or losses, or other significant life changes? All too often, you may find yourself involved in recurring conflicts, feeling repeatedly taken advantage of or misunderstood, or otherwise unsatisfied with your life for no obvious reason. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone. I will help you identify and set appropriate boundaries with the people in your life - including yourself - and ultimately grow into yourself in a way that feels authentic & genuine to you. Likewise if you are struggling with medical issues, have battled chronic illness for years, or want to work on your behavioral health preventively, my services may be a good fit for you. Informed by a longstanding pre-medical training background as well as personal experience with chronic illness, I will work with you to repair your mind-body connection by reshaping unhealthy thought patterns, changing problematic health habits, and learning to accept and cope with the messages your body is sending to you. Whatever the case, I will collaborate with you in an open and empathetic way to build coping skills, self-actualize, and attain your mental, physical, emotional, and lifestyle goals.

NOTE: I currently only have morning/midday availability at this time. (Mon-Thurs only) - - - - - I am deeply passionate about mental health, trauma work, and advocacy. With over a decade of experience in social work, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals across all age groups—from children as young as 3 to individuals preparing for and in their retirement years. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, tailoring goals and methods to align with your unique needs and lead to the best possible outcomes for you. I began my journey in this field as a victim advocate, where I guided trauma and crime survivors through complex systems while also helping them begin to process the life-altering events they had experienced. My approach is rooted in building a strong, trusting rapport, but I also believe in being straightforward. I enjoy challenging my clients to confront and dismantle negative self-beliefs and cognitive distortions, empowering them to discover their inner resilience and potential. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to work with you. Please visit my website to learn more and book a session.

I provide individual mental health treatment services to adults experiencing emotional distress due to relationships, parenting, life stressors, and women's health concerns. I also work with people experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma and adjustment disorder, as well as the sober curious. I offer SPACE Treatment which stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions. I practice social work from a generalist approach, utilizing different treatment modalities based on the clients strengths and needs, including elements of person-centered therapy, A.R.C., mindfulness, collaborative problem solving, feelings management through coping skills, and dialectical behavioral therapy. In addition to private practice, I have experience working in schools, hospitals and day treatment. My goal is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where clients can learn and reflect in order to create lasting change and stability. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply looking for extra support, I'm glad you're here. I'm Mary Mesiha, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 20 years of experience helping young adults navigate life's challenges. I specialize in working with college students facing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, trauma, and the pressures that often come with this stage of life. Hello, my name is Dr. Sarah O'Neil. I'm a psychiatrist (medical doctor who can prescribe) currently practicing entirely by telehealth. I am passionate about my work. I am warm and real. I will greet you with a smile, and talk to you like a fellow human. In addition to medication and evidence based therapies, I use humor, irreverence, thought provoking quotes, essays, websites, apps and video clips to introduce concepts such as self care, self compassion, boundary setting and effective coping skills. I provide a thorough initial assessment over the first several appointments, during which time we each figure out if we are a good match for working together. At the completion of the initial assessment, if we agree to work together, I will present a menu of reasonable treatment options that may include medication as well as CBT, DBT and mindfulness based therapy. If you are seeking professional help and are ready to engage collaboratively in an environment of hope and non-judgment to understand yourself through the lens of compassion, we may be a good fit. The best way to arrange an intake is to call my work phone: 617-622-3990. I have been treating/collaborating with/ advocating for college students for my entire career. I see people who have mood disorders, all the anxiety disorders (e.g. generalized anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, social phobia) I also have expertise in assessing and treating people with eating disorders. There is a question below about communities I support. All are welcome in my practice. Hate has no place in my office. I have experience supporting people who have felt the effects of weight or mental health stigma, as well as working mothers and women with or a history of post-partum depression.

You have learned how to survive and be strong, and still it can feel heavy. This is a space where all parts of you are welcome, without judgment. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, stressed, or emotionally drained, or struggling with your sense of self, identity, or relationships, you are in the right place. You are the expert of your own life. You can show up as you are to speak your truth, laugh, cry, curse, or simply just be. Progress in therapy looks different for everyone. For you, it could be feeling more insightful and equipped to manage daily life’s stressors. It could be having more patience and tolerance for others. It could be feeling more supported, confident, calm, and/or optimistic. It could be feeling like you have a greater sense of stability, and purpose. As a trauma survivor, I know how brave it is to start therapy. You matter. You are important. You deserve a peaceful and fulfilling life where you feel more empowered and in control. You do not have to face this journey alone. We will do it together, at your own pace, with practical strategies, real progress, and true healing.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a M.S.W from University of California, Berkeley School of Social Work, and a BA from Connecticut College. I have a background working in various settings with children, young adults, and families in the child welfare system in CA, in various hospital social work settings here in Boston, and in college mental health. In my therapy work, I employ a strengths-based approach and work to help patients recognize and build upon their own existing strengths, supports, coping skills, and resilience in order to manage during challenging times. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, cooking, and chasing after my dog. Pronouns: She, her, hers. I work especially well with individuals who are accessing therapy for the first time and need a safe space to learn about the process. I am certified in EMDR and can be helpful to those looking to explore past trauma and its impact on their current functioning.

I believe the greatest gift a therapist can offer is full presence with a compassionate ear. Many of my clients have sought therapy because something that was working for them was no longer working, or they noticed patterns in their lives that they wanted to change. Many felt unseen, unheard, and stuck in relationships. Some noticed patterns of anxiety or anger impact their relationship with others or their work. Some were experiencing family estrangement, contemplating cutoff, or processing the loss of a loved one. Whatever it is that brings you to our therapy space, I want you to walk away from a session having felt that I was with you on the other side, to make sense of things when nothing was making sense. Give yourself permission to be here as you are. What we acknowledge and admit to another becomes more real, and you matter. In our therapy space, even if you take your shoes off at the door, you can bring your whole self. I work with clients whose journey to therapy has been filled with ingenious ways to make due with what they have. Many find a major life transition (relationship, career, moving, school) challenging their current tools. Using attachment-based, somatic, and mindfulness-based therapies, we learn to slow down--to feel and then deal. To see where we may be unskillfully expending resources and how to reclaim them. Using an integrated-brain approach that values insight but doesn't stop there, I equip clients with an understanding of themselves in both their verbal and somatic narrative. As a social work-trained therapist, I strive to ensure that our therapeutic relationship is a refuge from larger systemic harm and trauma. I invite you to bring with you your current resources, social location, and values that you have inherited from your family of origin, ancestors, and communities. Please feel free to contact me for a free 20 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit together.
