Whether you are currently in crisis and/or have been wanting to unravel and alter unhelpful and possibly destructive patterns, I welcome your contact. I work with individuals and couples and have expertise in a wide-range of areas. These areas include, but are not limited to relationship conflicts, mood disorders, trauma, family of origin conflicts, medical conditions, LGBTQ+ related struggles, addiction and issues related to social justice. When appropriate, I encourage adjuncts to psychotherapy such as movement, creativity, pursuit of passion and related self-care. It can be a very courageous action to seek mental health treatment. We will go at a pace that is the right mix of comfortable and challenging. I have complete respect for who you are and what you are bringing to me now. The connection that develops between me and the people I work with is central to the healing and growth that takes place. I welcome your contact to explore whether we might be a good fit and/or to schedule an initial session.

Now accepting clients as of May, 2026! My name is Etamar and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in working with teens, college students, and young adults struggling with anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, low mood, trauma, identity questions, addiction, and the pressure of figuring out life while it keeps moving. I help clients better understand themselves, break unhealthy patterns, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Therapy can be a place to feel supported, challenged, and guided toward a more confident and grounded version of yourself. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and real. I’m not here to just nod and reflect. I use CBT, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients process difficult experiences, reduce stress, and create meaningful change. I meet clients where they are and tailor therapy to what actually works for them. In our first sessions, we’ll clarify what feels overwhelming, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build a plan for progress. My practice is practical, honest, and personalized.

Life is a multifaceted journey. Sometimes we need help along the way. That's where I come in! *providing telehealth services* You are valid. Your feelings are valid. You are not crazy. You most certainly are not broken. I offer you all a place to feel safe, heard, and validated. I am not the authority on your life but am an outside perspective. I want to treat you like a person, not a number on a page. I value open and honest communication. I will not suggest a course of treatment that I have not researched or tried on myself. I value the use of self-disclosure if it will in turn benefit your healing process. I have spent time engaging in intensive family treatment in homes and individual work through my private practice. I am open and honest and provide individualistic treatment to everyone who decides to work with me. I want to be a tool that is used to provide some help.

It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!

It's important to me to be someone my clients can trust to be nonjudgemental, validating, and interested in understanding them better. I hope to support clients in exploring their values and relationships; increasing feelings of self-esteem and self-efficacy; building skills to cope with distress and pain; and recovering from experiences of trauma and invalidation. I particularly enjoy working with clients who identify as highly sensitive or who experience emotional intensity.

Sometimes it's really hard for us to ask for help-especially when you're a strong, independent woman. Therapy is a great way to reach out, learn more about yourself, and grow through any challenges you might be facing. I help women who want to change their relationship with food and their bodies. I work with women in individual, group, & virtual therapy. I have a holistic approach that covers a wide range of symptoms & issues, but I enjoy helping clients who have struggled with their weight make peace with food. I love working with college women who are graduating & seeking support for the transition, and specialize in those women experiencing a "quarter life crisis". I also have a lot of experience helping women with recovering from sexual trauma. I love working with women who may have experienced an unplanned pregnancy or abortion as well, and offer an non-judgemental, pro-choice arena to explore emotions. Starting therapy can seem scary, but its brave to get some help! Make the decision to feel better today. I am an Out of Network insurance provider-contact your insurance to see if you qualify for these benefits. Flexible spending and HSA accepted as payment. I currently have a waitlist for February 2027 and am offering waitlist consult calls. You're studying nursing because you want to make a difference in the world. But it doesn't feel like you thought it would. You are faced with challenges in clinical that were never talked about in the classroom. By the end of the day, you're numb and exhausted. You spend your nights looking up how to transfer to a different major. You are spending your weekends watching the same show on repeat and wondering if this is really the college experience everyone talks about. Therapy designed specifically for nursing students focuses on creating a restorative space where you can finally slow down and process the emotions you push aside to make it through the day. We will talk about how to maintain self-care and balance while you study one of the hardest majors and learn the coping tools and boundaries needed to support ongoing success in your profession. Visit my website www.partnersinchangetherapy.com to learn more about how we can work together.
