Do you lie awake at night, sheets twisting beneath you, worst-case scenarios running through your head? On social media, you’re bombarded with horrific news of terrorist attacks, plane crashes, mass shootings. The unremarkable posts hurt just as much. Captions like “My mom is the best! I’d be lost without her!” make you clench up inside, heat coursing through your veins. People tell you to “Stay strong,” but they have no idea what you’ve been through. After experiencing trauma, nothing feels safe or certain. You want to curl up on the couch and push everything else away. I am so glad you are here. You deserve to be seen, heard and understood. With an outstretched hand, I will meet you where you are and together we can walk towards wholeness and healing. Imagine waking up fully rested, enjoying that smooth cup of coffee, driving to work confident that you can handle the day’s challenges and feeling fully present in your life. I’m ready to help you heal from trauma. Let's shed the shame and weight so you feel calm and in control. Send me an email today so we can schedule our first session. You deserve to take up space. You are worth it.
You look like you have it together—but inside, it feels exhausting. Maybe your thoughts about food take up more space than you’d like, or you swing between being “on track” and overwhelmed. You might hold yourself to high standards and still feel like you’re falling short. From the outside, it looks like discipline—but inside, it feels like anxiety and pressure. I help women step out of these cycles, using therapy and somatic practices to build flexibility, self-trust, and more ease in your body and life. I bring 8 years of experience as a therapist, and have practiced at residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in achieving success in therapy, and I will make sure you feel supported, and that we are aligned in achieving your goals. Life is challenging, and you shouldn't have to do it alone. I will help you navigate barriers to being present, and the need to distract with food, exercise, and obsessive thoughts about your body. I use a warm, yet direct approach. Together, we'll defuse from unhelpful thoughts, identify your strengths, and build a life you actually like.
If you are feeling dissatisfied in your relationships or if you are feeling anxious and stuck adjusting to changes, we will work together to find hope in your life and growth towards your goals. I work with couples and adults who are highly motivated to learn communication strategies that lead to genuine connection, collaboration and compromise, and unlearn communication patterns that lead to disconnection, disappointment and despair. As a life long learner, I am passionate about helping individuals, students and professionals identify their purpose, meaning and "why" as an antidote to burnout and stress. I have experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which provides a helpful set of tools to cope with distress and help you be more present in the moment. I have Level 2 training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. As a fellow parent, I enjoy supporting couples and individuals as you adjust to the joys and stressors of becoming parents and helping you balance the flexibility and structure required in expanding your family unit. I have Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy which offers evidenced-based accessible, practical, take home communication tools to build your relationship. Please reach out to schedule a free video consultation to see if we're a good fit!
My name is Michelle Kennedy, and I am a licensed clinical social worker who works with young adults navigating identity, relationships, sexuality, trauma, and major life transitions. I know that college and early adulthood can be exciting, confusing, overwhelming, and deeply transformative all at once. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. As a queer woman and part of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals who are exploring their identity, questioning their sexuality, coming out, navigating family dynamics, or learning how to live more authentically. Whether you’re confident in who you are or still figuring things out, I strive to create a space that feels affirming, safe, and free of judgment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe healing happens through connection, honesty, and feeling truly seen. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, stress, self-esteem struggles, and the impact of past trauma, including abuse, neglect, and loss. Many of the people I work with are trying to reconnect with themselves, build healthier relationships, and feel more at home in their own lives. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, heal from painful experiences, and move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and authentic to who you are.
Hi there! I am passionate about helping young adults thrive by supporting them through difficult emotions and transitions. I specialize in anxiety disorders and OCD. My style is warm and collaborative, and I truly see us as a team working together towards your goals, whatever they may be. I use the evidence-based therapies IFS, CBT, DBT, and ERP, as well as mindfulness. If you think I would be a good fit for what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out. I would be honored to connect with you!
What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.

Peak Serenity Counseling & Nutrition is a therapy practice devoted to meeting the mental health needs of adolescents, families, and adults living in Colorado and Virginia. We believe that challenging and changing unhealthy behaviors will yield overall better mental and physical health. Together with our clients, we explore past experiences and examine how they continue to impact the present and influence behaviors. Our holistic approach looks at the entire person and not just at the symptoms they are experiencing. Our goal at Peak Serenity is to help clients find their full potential and well-being through self-exploration, understanding, and acceptance of their true, authentic self. Through learning to value themselves and understand their wants and needs, clients explore and discover what brings them to their own sense of peak serenity.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you're juggling school, relationships, family expectations, or just trying to figure out who you are and what matters to you. I work best with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like they’re carrying more than they can manage alone. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, family conflict, or a major life transition—and I’m here to help you feel grounded again. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I’ll never judge you for what you’re feeling. Instead, I’ll support you in understanding yourself better and building tools to manage what’s hard. Before opening my private practice, I worked for years in a medical setting supporting young people and families through complex challenges. Today, I specialize in working with individuals living with chronic illnesses, as well as the caregivers and siblings who support them—but many of my clients also come to me with everyday stress, identity questions, or big decisions about the future. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are, help you make sense of your experiences, and walk alongside you as you grow, I’d love to connect.

These conditions include a variety of symptoms including feelings of sadness, loss of motivation, low energy, isolation, feeling worthless, disruption to appetite or sleep, racing thoughts, over-thinking, worry, nervousness, and panic attacks. Due to these symptoms, the ability to function normally is impacted, and many of our clients are having difficulty in school and in their relationships.
