My name is Jennifer Koch (She/Her). I am a 30 year experienced somatic mind-body oriented therapist who provides support for adolescents and adults moving through issues related to depression, anxiety, PTSD, sexual abuse survivors, medical trauma, falls/injuries, car accidents, substance use, grief/loss, LGBTQIA+ and other life transitions. Clients reach out for many reasons. Some are noticing distressing memories, fears, worry, or sadness impacting their relationships, employment, and sleep. Sometimes parents reach out concerned about their teen or college student seeming more withdrawn or overwhelmed at school/college or home. Some clients are feeling pressure to be perfect and keep up with life’s demands. Some are feeling stuck and unable to move their life forward and accomplish their personal or professional goals. I believe wholeheartedly in the resilience and capacity of our nervous systems to heal and move beyond past/current challenges we face with the right support. Please email me or call to schedule a free 15 minute telephone consultation call to explore if we are a good match for the support you are needing at this time. School is more than an academic challenge. It's often a time when long-standing patterns in relationships, identity, and self-expectations become impossible to ignore. You may find yourself constantly meeting others' expectations, questioning your own decisions, struggling to set boundaries, or feeling responsible for keeping the peace in your relationships while losing sight of what you need. My practice is dedicated to helping students understand how these patterns developed and why they may no longer serve them. Together, we'll explore the ways you've learned to relate to yourself and others, strengthen your sense of self, and help you develop the confidence to make choices that reflect your values rather than guilt, fear, or the expectations of others. You don't have to choose between caring about the people in your life and caring for yourself. My approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in genuine curiosity about your unique story. Whether you're navigating academic pressure, relationship challenges, family expectations, or major life transitions, therapy offers a space to better understand yourself, build self-trust, and create relationships that support both connection and authenticity.

I prescribe both medications and nutraceuticals as needed to help you achieve your best health. The next step? As a PMHNP with years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, I have a passion for helping underserved populations of all kinds, including the LGBTQIA+, peripartum, perimenopause, BIPOC, adult, and geriatric communities, navigate mental health challenges. Common challenges I help with include identity issues, self-esteem, barriers to care, relationship concerns, and hormonal influences on mental health, as well as mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, trauma, and treatment-resistant depression. No matter what you’re facing, I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care, which helps me be a trusted and collaborative partner in your mental health journey. I look forward to helping you achieve lasting wellness, build resilience, and reach your treatment goals in our work. Together, we'll create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable exploring your mental health. I use evidence-based medication management and therapeutic techniques to help you better understand what you're experiencing, improve your symptoms, and work toward your personal goals. Collaboration and compassion guide my style, and I tailor my approach to your unique needs, experiences, and treatment goals. While medication management is a core part of my practice, I'm passionate about including you in decision-making and exploring non-pharmacological and alternative therapies alongside standard treatment, whenever they make sense for you. My path to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner began with helping a family member navigate mental health challenges in a society that stigmatizes mental health and in a world with few quality mental health support options. I also dealt with my own mental health challenges, which fostered my deep interest in this field. These experiences allow me to bring a unique perspective grounded in nursing, diverse clinical experience, and genuine connection with each patient to every encounter. When I’m not with patients, I love to read, walk my dog, paint, ski, travel, and spend time on interior decorating and gardening.
Whether you're experiencing overwhelming stress, substance abuse, relationship problems, a struggle to overcome an experience in the past, being 'stuck' and your own resources aren't enough, having support is essential. I want get to know you and your world, your understanding of life, your language. To find creative ways to deal with the stresses and problems that life throws our way. I want to walk alongside you while you discover authenticity, meaning, purpose and joy in your life. Every person has their own story and needs space to work through the stuff of life, wherever you are in your journey, I find it a high honor to get to explore who you are and who you want to be.
With a background in social work and a deep commitment to trauma-informed care, I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate trauma, anxiety, emotional challenges, and life transitions. Whatever you're working through, my goal is to help you feel genuinely understood, build on the strengths you already carry, and move toward lasting healing and emotional well-being. Compassion and collaboration are at the heart of how I work. Every person brings with them a unique story, and I look forward to hearing yours as a supportive partner in the healing process. My style is trauma-informed, collaborative, and nonjudgmental — and the environment I create reflects that. Helping you build confidence and emotional regulation skills within a space that feels genuinely safe and empowering is what I'm most passionate about. Treatment is always tailored to your unique needs and goal. Using trauma-focused and strengths-based approaches, I work with you to build coping skills, process difficult emotions, and feel more at home in yourself. My path to becoming a therapist began in the behavioral health field, working directly with children and teens. This role quickly taught me the importance of building strong, supportive relationships, and how those relationships could change the trajectory of a young person's healing. Watching patients develop coping skills and emotional regulation tools they'd carry with them long after our sessions, I knew this was the work I was meant to do. From there, I moved into trauma-focused therapy with children and adolescents and haven't looked back since. Those years deepened my commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care, and reinforced my belief that every person, regardless of age or circumstance, has an innate ability to grow. That conviction, along with empathy and patience, is something I bring to every session we share. In my free time, I enjoy reading, journaling and solo traveling. I find that I am my happiest when I am surrounded by mountains and close to a good coffee shop!

Gen Z and Millennial women are often bombarded with difficult life transitions such as adulting, relationship distress, quarter-life crises, career pursuits, parenting, caregiving, and more. This can be a lot to manage! Societal pressures plus the changing roles of women in this age group require a focused, feminist, and knowledgable approach. It can be tricky searching for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here in the first place. My approach is fine-tuned, using radical genuineness, to help you learn how to manage these unique stressors while maintaining authenticity and calm. I am practiced in several targeted therapies that meet the needs of women in transition including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). In my personal experience, I have come to view change as the only constant, which is why I find great value in being able to help my clients through significant life transitions. Looking back at the clients I've served over the years, I have been able to find something about every one of them that I admire. I love meeting my clients where they are and seeing how I can support their walk through life in a genuine, non-judgmental, and meaningful way. If this sounds like the right approach for you, feel free to reach out for a phone consult.

My areas of focus are those who may be struggling with issues relating to depression, anxiety, grief and loss and life transitions. I’ve learned my clients are seeking someone who listens, and guides them to a path of discovery and healing.
