Trauma, Relationships, and Family Patterns — Helping You Build Healthier Connections If you’re feeling overwhelmed by past experiences, stuck in relationship patterns, or struggling with communication and connection, you’re not alone. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating trauma, family-of-origin challenges, communication difficulties, cultural differences, and life transitions—and who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. As a practicum therapist in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Abilene Christian University, I am supervised by Julia Wesley, LMFT-S, and provide therapy in the Frisco and Prosper areas. In our work together, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we focus on understanding patterns—how you communicate, how your family-of-origin experiences shape your relationships, and how past experiences may still be impacting you today. I help clients build stronger communication skills, navigate conflict more effectively, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I am especially passionate about working with those impacted by trauma and helping clients make sense of how their past connects to their present. My approach is grounded in family systems and relational therapy, meaning we look at how your relationships, environment, and experiences all interact. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we work to understand the bigger picture and create lasting change in the patterns that matter most to you. I strive to provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive space, and I am committed to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. Before entering the therapy field, I worked in leadership and people management, where I developed strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, and supporting individuals through challenges. I bring that real-world experience into the therapy room to help clients apply practical tools in their daily lives. I am also passionate about supporting diverse and underserved communities. My work as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador and ADHD advocate reflects my commitment to creating an inclusive, culturally aware space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey or want to see if we’re a good fit, I invite you to connect.
College life can be HARD. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, new life adjustments, or struggling with the unique challenges of college life, we all need support sometimes. I believe that all people have the power within themselves to strive towards positive growth and change when provided with a safe, accepting environment. My approach to counseling focuses on facilitating a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional acceptance. I see my clients as collaborative partners, and together we work towards meeting their goals. I specialize in several therapy approaches, and work hard to integrate self exploration, learning new skills and coping techniques, and creative outlets such as expressive arts therapy into the traditional talk therapy model. I have experience working with clients of all ages in a variety of settings, including in schools and private practice. I have also worked with adults in both private practice settings and at the university level at an Autism Support Program. As a person-centered therapist, I trust both in the power of the unconditionally accepting therapeutic relationship, and in my client’s capacity to heal and change. I meet my clients where they are and we will go on a journey towards healing together.

Hello, I’m Heather. I specialize in supporting clients who feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, the weight of responsibilities, or feeling stuck and unsure of what steps to take next. You might know you need something to change but aren’t quite sure what that is, or perhaps past therapy experiences haven’t been the best fit. Whatever brought you here, know that change is possible. Taking the first step is often the hardest, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Do you find yourself constantly putting others first? Often at the expense of your own needs? Do you struggle to say “no” without guilt, or question your worth when you’re not being productive or perfect? You’re not alone. I work with women and teenage girls who feel stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, poor boundaries, and self-doubt; women & girls who are ready to reclaim their voice, reconnect with their identity, and finally start loving themselves deeply and unapologetically.
Welcome to your healing journey! Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who currently serves adults throughout the state of Texas. I have a profound passion for mental health and strive to create a safe, therapeutic space where your unique story is valued. Whether you are seeking support for concerns related to work stress, relationships in your life, life transitions, need support managing your emotions, or need assistance processing a troubling event, I am here for you. During sessions I use a variety of trauma informed approaches to therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR aims to help make tough memories less distressing, while promoting healing from difficult experiences. Through personalized strategies, I am dedicated to empowering my clients to explore patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that can lead to a more fulfilled life. I am also a therapist who utilizes holistic approaches, so I incorporate mindfulness, meditation, and somatic practices into our sessions. Some sessions will be tougher than others, but you are the expert of your own healing. In our first session, you take the lead in defining the path forward. We will explore the pressing issue that brought you to seek support and will create a treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to the goals and changes that you are looking for. I do require a 15-minute consultation call before the first session is scheduled.

**Accepting clients who reside in Georgia or Texas.** Having worked on college campuses in admissions, academic advising, and career counseling, I love working with college-age students and the unique stressors that this season of life can bring upon them. When I meet with young adults, I often hear comments like, “I’m overwhelmed and stressed, and I just can’t get out of my own head” or “This situation or this challenging relationship is leaving me frustrated and stuck, and I don’t know what to do about it.” Navigating relationships with others can be challenging when we are confused about what we can control in the situation. I know because I, too, have struggled with how to handle difficult people and difficult relationships in my life. This means that you are not alone in the challenges that you may be facing right now. I'd love to work with you through this difficult season. I also provide Career Exploration Coaching for clients who are looking for extra support on decision-making for choices of major/minor or potential career paths that fit them best. I'd love to help you through this process.
My personal passion is connecting with those who feel like no one really understands them. I can empathize, as several times in my life I have had those very same feelings. My goal is to help and inspire those who feel disconnected and struggling in life. I aspire to help my clients feel satisfaction, comfort, and joy. With years of experience providing therapy for members of the LGBTQ+ community, clients struggling with spirituality, sexuality, or addiction(s); these topics are my passion and where I have been able to help others navigate. I have real-life experiences such as serving in the military, some trauma, and chronic illness and pain. I have over 20 years’ experience with both civilian and government positions in the fields of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Child Advocacy, Chronic Illness and Counseling/Educational program delivery to the community. My focus is to help you through growth, change and resolution. Your journey is as distinctive as you are.

I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. My role is to support you in becoming more self-aware and confident, while helping you make the changes you want to see in your life. To me, therapy is a collaborative process. I’m not here to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as a guide, a support, and sometimes just a steady presence while you navigate life’s challenges. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to grow and the responsibility to pursue that growth when they’re ready. I also believe our relationships with family, partners, friends, or chosen community play a huge role in our overall well-being. When those connections feel off or strained, it can affect so many other areas of life. Whether we're working one-on-one, with a couple, or with a family, I take a systemic approach to understand the bigger picture and help shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. And I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard.
