Veterinary Social Work, Nature-Informed Therapy & Walk-and-Talk Sessions. 🌳🐕🦆🦌 Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, deeply caring, compassionate individuals who have spent so much energy taking care of others, meeting high expectations, and holding everything together that they've lost touch with themselves. They are the caregivers, changemakers, student leaders, and community builders. Too often, natural helpers arrive feeling burned out, anxious, overwhelmed and physically exhausted. They look at their lives and realize they no longer recognize themselves. I believe people have an incredible capacity to heal, adapt, and grow. Therapy is a collaborative process where we slow down, make sense of what's been weighing on you, and reconnect with what matters most. You set the pace. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection - with ourselves, with other people, with animals, and with the natural world around us. This perspective is informed by One Health, which recognizes that human, animal, and environmental well-being are deeply interconnected. I offer therapy in-office, online, and through Nature-Informed Therapy and Walk-and-Talk sessions when clinically appropriate at various locations in the Delaware River Valley's Mercer-Bucks Region. Nature-informed therapy is always an invitation, never an expectation. For some people, movement and time in nature creates space to reflect, regulate, and reconnect. Others prefer the comfort of an office or telehealth. Together, we'll find the approach that feels right for you. As an NYU-trained Veterinary Social Worker, I also provide specialized support for veterinary students, compassion fatigue, animal companion loss and grief, Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and letters when clinically appropriate, and anyone whose relationship with an animal has profoundly shaped their life. These relationships deserve to be recognized and honored. Whether you're navigating burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, grief, identity questions, relationship challenges, or simply the feeling that you've lost yourself while caring for those around you, therapy offers a place to reconnect with yourself, your relationships, and the life you want to create. *I offer psychotherapy through both insurance-based and private-pay practice settings. Traditional office-based and telehealth services may be available through insurance. Specialized outdoor services, including Nature-Informed Therapy and Walk-and-Talk sessions, are offered through my private practice. Clients are encouraged to inquire about fees and verify any potential reimbursement with their insurance provider.* If you are enrolled in the Princeton University Student Health Plan (SHP), please use the following link to schedule your consultation. https://positivemindcounseling.clientsecure.me

I support students who are used to holding it together for everyone else—but privately struggle with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, trauma, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others. You might overthink everything, avoid asking for help, or feel exhausted by the pressure to perform academically and socially. My practice offers a warm, steady space to slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and build real coping skills—not just quick fixes. I provide trauma-informed therapy using EMDR, partswork, art therapy, and somatic/body-based approaches that help you understand how stress and past experiences affect your body, emotions, and relationships so you can feel more grounded and confident. I accept funding through VCAP (Victim Compensation Assistance Program) which helps cover the cost of 6-12 months of therapy for sexual assault survivors in Pennsylvania (no need to have ever reported assault in order to be eligible to apply). My name is Eve Buck (she/her/hers), and I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with individuals and couples living in New York and Pennsylvania at my virtual practice. I completed my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. My previous training includes working with undergraduate and graduate students at the Fordham University counseling center, as well as community practices where I have worked with culturally diverse clients from all walks of life. I particularly enjoy working with young adults and senior adults and have specialized training in therapy for people who identify as Latinx. It is through the experiences and lessons I have learned along my work and personal journeys that I hope to support your path toward overcoming your personal struggles and finding greater fulfillment. I pride myself on utilizing a multicultural approach to therapy while bringing in teachings and principles of multiple disciplines, drawing mainly from psychodynamic therapy among other evidence-based practices. It is this multidisciplinary approach that I believe best serves clients, allowing space for present-minded problem solving as well as exploration into a client’s past, relationships, and emotional experience. Our work together can be tailored based on your life story and experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy. Everyone’s therapy journey is different. Whether it’s working through trauma or beginning a path towards better self-understanding, I strive to provide an open, non-judgmental, and productive space where people can find relief from distressing symptoms as well as develop a stronger sense of self through insight and reflection. Just like each person is unique, each treatment is different and adapted to who you are and what you need. I recognize the wide breadth of human experience and I bring this knowledge with me to best meet your needs. Life can be difficult and confusing, but as your therapist I will be there to empathize with and support you through it.

I believe therapy is meant to be a collaborative process between client and therapist. As such, clients create goals for themselves while therapist are present to assist them in reaching their goals. I strive to create an environment which is affirming and comfortable yet also expect I will challenge clients in their assumptions regarding thoughts, behaviors, and interpersonal interactions. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities in my practice, tailoring therapy to the individual client(s) I am serving. I regularly use humor and self disclosure, as a way to increase therapeutic relationship, when appropriate. I have worked in social services and mental health for over 15 years. I began my career as a Resident Advisor and by volunteering on hotlines while in college. I then transitioned to working as a milieu therapist with children. Following completion of my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked with families struggling with transitions, relationship conflict, and child behavioral/mental health concerns as a mobile family therapist. While working as a mobile therapist, I received additionally training in Eco-Systemic Family Therapy through the Philadelphia Child and Family Training Therapy program. I am one of a few male Certified Sex Therapist, certified through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, with offices in Philadelphia and Media. I work with couples and individuals. I specialize in working with LGBTQ inidividuals. My areas of speciality include, people seeking to understand their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. I work with gay and lesbian couples who are navigating both traditional couple dynamics as well as issues specific to being a part of a same-sex couple. I have worked with clients in traditional and non-traditional relationship dynamics, including open and polyamorous relationships. Additionally, I often work with people attempting to work through sexual dysfunctions or concerns. I enjoy working with male identified clients as I often find they are not generally given the latitude to be emotionally expressive and doing so with another male can be very affirming. My rate is $175 for individual sessions and $200.00 for couples. Sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration.

People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Though the process of therapy can be difficult, I bring an accepting and compassionate mindset to our relationship that will help you feel comfortable in session and leave therapy feeling more satisfied, skillful, and empowered. I typically work with college students, adults, and older adolescents. I primarily work from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) perspectives. I also integrate components of other orientations where helpful and tailor my therapeutic approach to the individual characteristics and needs of each client. The majority of my training has been in college counseling and community mental health. My areas of interest and expertise include trauma, OCD, social anxiety, specific phobia, panic disorder, emotion dysregulation, issues of overcontrol, nonsuicidal self-injury, depression, and LGBTQ+ issues. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our work together!
