This experience informs my practice with students. I have helped athletes through every possible problem students can encounter. I use a trauma informed lens, since we all experience trauma, and that trauma, sometimes informs our reality and our core beliefs. I use a psychodynamic approach, and help individuals understand why they believe and act the way they do.

College can intensify difficulties with attention, mood, anxiety, relationships, sleep, motivation, and daily routines. I help students sort through multiple concerns, understand what may be contributing to them, and decide what to address first. My approach is warm, practical, and individualized, ranging from concrete problem-solving to deeper emotional work. Humor is also an important part of treatment. As a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive psychotherapy experience, I consider how biology, medical conditions, developmental history, personality, relationships, and daily life interact. This broader perspective guides thoughtful decisions about medication, psychotherapy, mind-body practices, or some combination of these. I provide careful ADHD evaluations that consider developmental history as well as other factors that can affect attention and executive functioning, including anxiety, mood, trauma, sleep, substance use, and life structure. I also work with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, relationship difficulties, and developmental trauma. When a student already has a therapist, I welcome close collaboration with that therapist. I graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed my psychiatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University. My postgraduate psychotherapy training has included experiential approaches and Attachment-Focused EMDR.

“Helping people is a privilege.” For more than twenty-five years, I’ve supported children, adolescents, adults, and families through moments of change, stress, and growth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in listening deeply. I meet clients exactly where they are, move at their pace, and help them make sense of what they’re feeling so they can move toward meaningful change. I work with clients who want to understand patterns that are no longer serving them — whether that’s anxiety, being overwhelmed, people pleasing, perfectionism, relationship stress, or major life transitions. Together we explore what’s underneath these experiences, build insight, and develop practical tools for emotional regulation and resilience. My style integrates solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness strategies & strengths-based work. Clients often tell me they feel heard, supported, & empowered to make choices that align with who they want to be. Therapy with me is a collaborative process where your voice matters, your goals guide our work, and growth becomes possible.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist in PA. After graduating in 2004 from Rosemont College, I began my work in Counseling and Behavioral Therapy. I worked for the top companies servicing clients before I decided to go out on my own. I have my private practice, Canopy Counseling Unlimited in Media, PA. I have extensive work with children, adolescents, individuals, families, blended families, and divorced parents. My counseling strength is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you feel, think, and act. The therapy aims to find practical ways to help you deal with problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. With over 19 years of experience, I have worked with individuals diagnosed with Anxiety(Certified,) Autism (Certified) (both child and adult- with a license in this area), ADHD-(certified,) Bipolar, Depression, Stress Management, Trauma(Certified,) and too many others to list. My license in counseling helps focus on feelings and beliefs while my license in behavioral therapy helps focus on behaviors and environments that impede growth. I use both in my approach. My background in mental health has given me experience in knowing that each person's needs are special and unique and that there are no "cookie-cutter" answers to solve problems. (If that was the case there would be one book and I'd be out of a job.) I believe that therapy should be just as important as seeing your doctor or dentist regularly. With the stress of today, everyone is experiencing some parts of their life that are not what they want them to be. We will find strategies that will help you, I will teach you coping skills that will fit you, and help you process the areas in your life you want to change. You will apply these strategies and be able to see a positive change in your life. I want you to be comfortable coming to see me and feel supported. I come up with lots of ideas to help you on your journey. We will work together to understand the "whys" and build better strategies to improve the areas in your life you want to change. We will look at ways to improve communication with others and develop good self-esteem. I believe that everyone can succeed when they feel supported and not judged. I will meet you where you are and work with you on finding balance. My approach is to help individuals and families bring back and restore the balance that was once there and watch the growth that takes place! The language that I speak is English. Outside of behavioral health care and in my free time, I enjoy building things, remodeling, mission work, snow skiing, travel, spending time at the beach, and of course, time with my family.
