When I retired from professional ballet, I attended Princeton University for my undergraduate studies. I started going to therapy and found it helped me participate more fully in my life and find more joy in my experience of college. My interest in mental health led me to study social work at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by sport psychology in Scotland, as a Fulbright scholar. I enjoy working with a variety of people, including athletes/artists/performers navigating transitions and retirement.
Hi! Thank you for stopping by. If you are in the middle of big life transitions—figuring out who you are, what you want, and how you relate to the people around you- we might be a good fit. College can bring up questions about identity, relationships, and belonging, along with the stress of academics and life changes. Some students feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves, while others want support navigating dating, friendships, family expectations, or exploring different parts of their identity. The students who tend to connect most with my practice are open to reflecting on their experiences, building self-understanding, and developing healthier, more authentic ways of relating to themselves and others. I love to bring in mindfulness and somatic practices into the therapeutic process and so if this sounds like you- definitely reach out! I also do accept some insurances and so feel free to email me with any questions. I cant wait to hear from you!
Alex Kapnek, LPC, is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who specializes in working with neurodivergent clients navigating trauma, addiction, and emotional dysregulation. I'm a trauma therapist offering online therapy to college students throughout Pennsylvania. My specialty is IFS-informed EMDR: EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip on the present, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings compassion to the parts of you that learned to protect you in hard times. Together, they let us work through trauma at a pace that feels safe — without having to retell your story over and over. Many of the students I work with are carrying more than a heavy course load: childhood wounds, anxiety that won't switch off, depression, ADHD, or the pressure of holding it all together far from home. Therapy with me is a place where all of that can be looked at without judgment. I believe we can let go of our past and accept ourselves as we are — and that self-acceptance is the first step toward change. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (EMDRIA) and trained in IFS (IFS Institute) and DBT, with a master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and eight years of practice. Sessions are $185 with sliding-scale spots available, and I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a free 20-minute consultation — reach out and let's see if we're a good fit.
Hi, I'm Jennifer. I help my clients feel like themselves again after trauma, specifically sexual trauma or relationship violence. You’ve tried to get past it, forget about it, told yourself it “wasn’t a big deal”, but you’re in pain. Maybe you notice feeling scared and mistrusting of others, having mood swings, or feeling down about yourself. Trauma can take many different forms, so often we don’t realize what we’ve gone through until we unpack it with someone safe. I can be that person for you.
Anxiety- it's one of the worst feelings out there and it thrives on college campuses. Maybe you're familiar? Your heart races, your chest tightens, your breathing gets stuck in your throat, and you're flooded with "what if" thoughts. It's an experience that leaves you feeling powerless over your own thoughts and emotions. That's where I come in. My name is Shaylyn Forte and I'm a therapist who specializes in helping college students overcome their anxiety. Whether you're brand new to therapy and need to learn basic skills to manage your thoughts and emotions, or you've been to therapy before and are looking to go deeper so that you can erradicate anxiety once and for all, I can help. Relief starts with a free 20 minute consultation- reach out via email to get set up. I'm looking forward to learning more about you and how I can help!
I want you to know this therapy will acknowledge the very real challenges you face that are NOT just in your head. If you've been left out, excluded, and the people around you don't understand, you have every right to be angry, hurt and lonely. Do the people in your life expect you to conform or “fix your problem” and make you feel like a burden for having needs? Have you started to believe the negative messages; started believe you're lazy, not good enough or a burden? I offer support for folks who are going through it. You deserve full access to therapy, please don't hesitate to let me know how I can best support. For example: lying down during session to ease fatigue, video forms instead of words on paper. If you're not sure what you need, we can explore this together and find out what works best for you. You can email me at Schedule@BodyMindAllianceCC.com or you can reach me by phone at 215-259-8016. Note: Your gender identity, pronouns and sexual/affectional orientation will be respected and honored without making therapy “all about your identity” unless that is what you want or need. I offer online therapy with Closed Captions (you can turn this feature off or on)
