Thoughts can be overwhelming. If you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off, or if you've ever been told that you're hard on yourself then we can work on making your thoughts and emotions feel more manageable for you. Maybe right now grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, and together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself), and helping you recover from and managing burn-out so that you don't feel trapped to keep pouring from an empty cup. These are areas I'm passionate in. I offer in-person or telehealth sessions on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Mondays are only available for telehealth. I also for a free 15minute consultation. I began my career as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) later in life, and I have great passion for the work I do with my clients. I have 8 years of experience as a therapist for children/teens, adults, and families. I have worked in out-patient, school-based, in-home, and community settings. For individual and family therapy, I use a client-based, relational approach that focuses on positive communication, mutual respect, and active listening skills. I enjoy collaborating with clients on goals. I have a strong background in trauma and in providing services for at-risk teens and young adults. I offer counseling for mood and personality disorders, grief and loss, separation/divorce and family issues, as well as for medically based diagnoses, such as ADHD, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and cancer. My style is person-centered and eclectic, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused interventions. I also enjoy providing group therapy for children, teens, and adults, and I believe that each group is an opportunity for growth, connection, and validation.
