His work with others is also strongly influenced by his 36 years of meditation practice, which has developed into an ability to work with others with depth and wisdom.

Specialties include treating members of Sexual and Gender Minorities / 2SLGBTQIA+, emerging/young adult populations, creative professionals, and educators. I bring to clinic an abiding commitment to offering my patients kind, affirming, personalized psychiatric care. I do not prescribe controlled substances. The practice is in-network with select insurance companies in CA, IL, MA, NY, OR, and WA. I also accept self-pay patients from CA, IL, MA, NY, OR, and WA who may be able to collect reimbursement from their insurance companies, if they have out-of-network benefits.
I enjoy working with folks who are navigating issues of anxiety, depression, ADHD, perfectionism, emotion regulation, grief, stress management, or relationship dynamics & communication skills. Therapy can also be a great place to receive support from a neutral person not already involved in your life, potentially to help develop self-awareness, self-confidence, or explore your future goals & plans. I especially enjoy working with University students who are pursuing their Masters or PhD degrees in Graduate School, though I also work with many Undergrad students adjusting to college life as well. Additionally, I have experience with student athletes & the intersection of mental health with sports performance.
I enjoy working with motivated individuals and people in all relationship configurations who are seeking change. My style is approachable, warm, and collaborative, with a dash of humor when appropriate. I will be learning just as much from you as you are from me since you are the expert in your own life, even in times when it doesn't feel like it. From my former work as an intake coordinator, I know how hard it can feel to reach out for therapy, and I would be happy to see if I can help you meet your goals with a brief initial phone call.

Hi, I’m Alex Pelaez, an Associate Professional Counselor practicing under the clinical supervision of Hailey Halesworth, LPC, CADC II, and I’m glad you’re here. I work best with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves—often while trying to look “fine” on the outside. Therapy takes true courage, and my goal is to create an empowering, compassionate environment where you can safely engage in self-discovery, build resilience, and offer yourself grace as you heal. Grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), we will explore your social and cultural connections to help you understand where disconnections may have caused pain, strengthen your voice, and develop practical coping skills. I also integrate creative and body-centered modalities—including music, artwork, and somatic experiences—to support holistic healing for both mind and body. You don’t need the perfect words to start; we’ll meet exactly where you are and move at a pace that feels safe and doable. If you’re looking for a grounded, supportive space focused on real change, I’d love to connect.

Assisting woman-identified Oregon State students for nearly twenty years has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I have assisted students in all areas of study and from many continents. I have aided students in managing existing mental health challenges, adjusting to new mental health diagnoses, navigating academic stressors and relationship changes, healing from sexual assaults and traumas, learning to use their voice, becoming more comfortable in their bodies, and more. Being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker means that I believe that we are best understood in relation to our inner and outer environments, and also that our strengths hold wisdom that act as a blueprint for understanding our challenges. I work relationally with no workbooks or homework and believe that a healthy therapeutic relationship is a the most important tool in assisting others. My counseling style has been described as warm and nurturing, yet direct. I work best with students who are seeking therapy for themselves and are looking to actively engage in a change process. Feminist and Narrative theories heavily inform my work and I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as tools to help create lasting change.

As a dual-board-certified adult and pediatric psychiatrist, I provide thoughtful, evidence-based care in a welcoming setting. My approach integrates the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of health to support lasting well-being. At present, my practice is centered on young adults and the challenges that commonly arise in early adulthood—including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental concerns. My goal is to form a warm, collaborative partnership with each person I work with, so together we can work toward meaningful growth and healing.
I founded Keshet Counseling to support individuals who often feel overlooked or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. My work is especially meaningful to those navigating the complexities of chronic illness, such as Lyme Disease, Mold Toxicity, MCAS, and other invisible disabilities, as well as those facing antisemitism or discrimination for not aligning with political or institutional expectations. I also work closely with teens and adults dealing with antisemitism, narcissistic abuse, multicultural identity issues, codependency, love addiction, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My approach is rooted in body centered somatic psychology using mindfulness. We’ll explore unconscious beliefs and patterns shaping your experience by noticing whats happening for you in this moment. I hold a humanistic view of healing: I believe you are already whole, worthy, and deeply capable of transformation. My role is to help reconnect you to your own inner knowing, and I view our relationship as a collaborative space where your voice and wisdom lead the way. I don’t believe there’s something wrong with you, rather, what happened to you.
