I work with children, adolescents, and adults who feel stuck between what anxiety is telling them to do and the life they actually want to live. It’s common to feel overwhelmed by anxiety or OCD, getting caught in cycles of overthinking, avoidance, and feeling stuck, you’re not alone. Using evidence-based treatments like ERP, PE, HRT, and Behavioral Activation, I help clients learn to respond differently to intrusive thoughts, reduce avoidance, and move toward what matters most. Together, we focus on building a life guided by values rather than fear. ERP provides structure and direction. My goal is to help you feel more confident handling whatever shows up and partner with families to create consistency and support outside of sessions. Taking the first step can be hard, but you don’t have to do it by yourself, I'd be happy to connect and see how I can support you.

Through our work together, we will create a space that is uniquely yours. Your life experience, thoughts, and emotions will be witnessed and safely held within the relationship we cultivate. We will differentiate between familial, societal, and cultural conditioning and expectations from your own inner guide so that you can live in alignment. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, OCD, intimacy, life transitions, self-esteem, disordered eating, or relationship issues, my goal is to help you identify your needs and how to meet them.

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!

It's getting more and more difficult to resist your compulsions. You're getting upset with yourself for not having enough "willpower." You're having frightening thoughts about yourself and others. Thoughts that scare you or contradict your values and who you are as a person. You experience self-hate every time you give into a compulsion. You're exhausted by your own mental and/or physical compulsions. You struggle to trust yourself and often experience shame surrounding your thoughts. You keep it all to yourself because you fear that others will judge you or betray you. Simultaneously, you need emotional support more than ever. My clinical training includes a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and a master's degree in Clinical Social work from Hunter College. I utilize ERP, the gold standard for OCD, CBT, and solution-focused therapy. I also provide mindfulness tools to help clients increase awareness around behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients, using my clinical background and their knowledge of self and am grateful to witness them transform into versions of themselves that they never thought were possible. It is a privilege to be allowed into the minds and hearts of my clients. I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation to see if we're a good fit.

Hello, My name is Lauren Pezzo and I am the owner of Dedicated Peace. I am a solo practitioner seeing clients remotely. I treat a variety of ages from 13 - 55+ and I am most familiar with Mood Disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Bi-Polar, Panic, etc). I have worked with individuals with a history of trauma be it recent or in the past. I do well with relationship issues, couples sessions and handling familial conflict. I am very big on clients learning to change their narrative. Meaning being open to changing the various stories we tend to tell and sell ourselves over the years. I want to help people think in the grey area of life and be open to challenging narrow thinking we may have become accustomed to.

Are you finding it difficult to cope with your overthinking, negative feelings, and anxious thoughts? Do your negative feelings associate with your appearance, self-worth, or accomplishments? Does it sound like “I’m not good enough, I will never succeed, I’ll always be alone, I hate the way I look, No one cares about me”? Do your anxious thoughts manifest in difficulty sleeping, working, or socializing? Do you feel you need a place for someone to hear you, see you, and validate your experience? Would you like to acquire coping skills for anxiety regarding your relationships, your career, or communication? I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help adults overcome negative self-talk, life transitions, relationship issues, and imposter syndrome and achieve an increased understanding of feelings, emotions, relationships, communication, and self-worth. I aim to create a collaborative environment within our therapy sessions because I believe you, as the client, have the ability to understand yourself and your concerns and you may just need some assistance in building the tools to manage and overcome them. Together, we will figure out how to build a relationship that will support you in the way that you need.

At Rivia Medical, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health, with a focus on both treatment and prevention. We believe in listening to each patient and creating a partnership to work on maintaining and improving lifelong health. This includes creating a personalized treatment plan that incorporates the best evidence-based care, but which also takes into account your personal circumstances, perspectives, goals and expectations. High quality mental healthcare is hard to find and hard to afford. We wanted to create a place where people could find reliable and informed psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and therapists, and have the option to explore treatment options other than medication. We are a team of well-trained psychiatrists, nurse practitioners and social workers. We keep ourselves educated and informed. And we focus on understanding you, the individual, in detail before deciding on the right treatment. What excites us about our practice is the excellent clinicians in our group, and the fascinating patients and clients we get to help. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluations and treatment for those suffering from psychiatric symptoms, or psychological distress.

Every person is unique, each with their own narratives and perspectives. I subscribe to the belief that a new therapy is constructed for each person I work with. From the outset of treatment on through a process of self-discovery— challenging circumstances, past traumas, and negative belief structures lay the groundwork for seeds of strength and growth. All individuals possess the capacity to change their lives and I will work with you to process adversity and conflict into resilience and peace. I like to tailor my method to the person sitting across from me, though I do specialize in an approach which encompasses psychodynamic perspectives and behavioral techniques. These tend to help clients explore unconscious patterns and enactments while offering practical tools for immediate relief from issues such as anger, grief, depression, and anxiety. In treatment, I am a human first and a therapist second. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for you to explore the vulnerabilities which lie beneath anxious manifestations. I am warm, curious, direct, and I bring a sense of humor to discussions focused around how you see your multifaceted self in the myriad roles you inhabit.

My goal is to support clients in becoming the best version of themselves. I see therapy as a tool to support and motivate clients in taking control of their lives. I believe that therapy is truly for everyone- you do not need to have a major problem to start therapy. Therapy can be a place where we discuss the good things happening in your life! However, starting therapy is a vulnerable process. I am here to support your experiences and to provide you with the tools to better cope with situations. I focus on exploring clients' inner voices and beliefs that dictate how we interpret situations. I work with young adults and adults. I work mainly with issues around self worth, communication, anxiety, and life transitions. I have a background in education and empathize with young adults and adults striving for perfectionism. I also feel passionately about helping young adults feel empowered and find happiness and success in their careers and the corporate world. As a Jewish therapist, I bring a strong appreciation for how culture, identity, and personal values shape the way we move through the world. I aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself—whether you’re navigating school stress, relationships, family dynamics, or figuring out who you want to be in this next chapter of your life.
