*Please note, I generally work with clients online. An occasional in-person session may be possible depending upon location. Hi! My name is Eugene. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, trauma, other similar concerns, (or just want to work on self-improvement), and things like a non-judgmental environment, a more holistic approach to counseling resonate with you, we may be a great match. I specialize in integrating a combination of training in mind-body counseling, personal life experience, health coaching, mindfulness, and non-religious spirituality/transpersonal. I strive to help clients overcome their struggles and create change in their lives, in order to help them fulfill their highest potential. I believe that gaining insight into one’s self is key to flourishing mental health and self-actualization. I employ approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (Including Exposure and Response Prevention), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and non-religious spirituality/transpersonal, according to the unique needs of my clients. In addition, I offer a compassionate presence and reverence to the innate wisdom held within each of us. I offer an international multicultural perspective, having lived in Ukraine, the US, and England. In addition, I welcome and am allied with communities such as LGBTQ, polyamorous, single by choice, asexual, sex workers, and open relationship, as just some examples. Finally, in addition to English, I am fluent in spoken Russian and have a basic conversational level in Spanish. If this resonates with you, please reach out to me.
I have experience helping people of all ages and backgrounds. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, feeling stuck, coping with transitions, chronic stress, low self-worth, substance abuse, or relational stress, we can work on these things together. I offer a safe and supportive space for you to explore the underlying issues of what is going on. This is a collaborative process where we can examine the behaviors and thought patterns you are experiencing and how they are affecting you. Life can present itself with many hardships and transitions. Whether you’ve been in therapy before, or if it is your first time, there is no better time than now to get the extra support you need.
Creating a space for someone to feel supported and heard is my first priority. The most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship is the dynamic between client and therapist. When you truly feel comfortable and understood by your therapist then that is when therapy can thrive. The goal in the work we do is to focus on assisting you in healing so that you are able to use the space and time we have to decipher what would work best for you to move forward. Therapy is a place for you to unwind, unload and have an opportunity to speak your thoughts out loud, reflect and make sense of how you would like to proceed away from stress, anxiety, anger, melancholy or behaviors that are no longer useful and yet challenging to change. I have worked in the field of HIV, substance use and mental health for over a decade. Primarily working in community health centers and non profit organizations, I have had the honor of providing mental health services to homeless men and women, adults who are actively using substances and unsure of what changes they would like to make, if any, and with homeless youth who are struggling with a severe mental illness. My graduate education and training was started and completed in the Bay Area where I also taught mindfulness meditation through a research study at UCSF. I am a Latino Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the state of New York. I specialize in working with people, in both English and Spanish, who are struggling with Substance Use, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Sexual Identity, Coming out, Gender Identity & Transition, HIV-related issues, Relationship issues, Grief and Loss, Sexual Difficulties, Migration issues and adapting to a new country with a sensitivity to diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. In addition I also specialize in working with people who believe in non traditional sexual relationships and expressions. I am currently accepting new clients in the Flatiron District of New York City. If you are considering therapy or even just pondering on whether this is a right fit for you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf" is a Jon Kabat-Zinn quote relevant to these challenging times. I help individuals become less stressed and more available to pursue their goals. Therapy should be a positive experience for you where you feel heard and supported and gain new insights into your feelings and experiences. Our sessions will be focused on you becoming restored and replenished with more energy for the things you value. Whether you are experiencing a short term challenge or ongoing struggle, it takes bravery to step forward and want to make changes in your life. I'm a seasoned mental health counselor and school psychologist with experience supporting clients with life challenges. Our work together will be client centered, strength based and solution focused. We will utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and similar modalities to examine perceptions, remove blocks and identify healthier approaches to problem solving. I will provide a safe environment to facilitate positive growth in your life. My approach is warm, non-judgmental and flexible as we work together to establish individualized goals and creative solutions specific to your needs. I invite you to contact me to tell me more about yourself and learn more about my therapy practice.
I BELIEVE THAT EACH PERSON is a mosaic of experiences, identities, and values and I will tailor our work to your unique needs and goals. I am attentive to your story as an individual or couple as well as broader cultural and sociopolitical dynamics that may impact your experience. I am collaborative and not mysterious - I will share my thinking with you, explain what I believe you may find helpful and why, and welcome your feedback on what is and is not working for you. I WILL DRAW UPON MY TIME studying biology at Harvard to consider and share with you how biological elements such as sleep science, nutrition, stress response, and more may be impacting your wellbeing. I also am happy to discuss how your sexual health intersects with physical and emotional health, and have several years of experience in sex and relationship counseling. If you struggle with any aspect of sex ranging from desire, arousal, accessing pleasure, self-consciousness, or trauma, I am here to acknowledge the taboos around sex in our society, provide a space for open conversation individually or as a couple, and help you get what you want out of your sexuality and sex life. MY CLINICAL STYLE prioritizes validation and fostering a safe environment to navigate vulnerable topics together. Many people tend to invalidate their own emotions - if this sounds like you, I will support you in developing kinder self-talk and holding space for your feelings. We will uncover insight into why you may be stuck in certain patterns or cycles that are not serving you as an individual or in a relationship and use this knowledge to build new ways of moving forward and living your life how you want to. WE WILL REFLECT ON what gives you fulfillment and how to create a life full of meaning and enjoyment. At the same time, we will explore different tools, including somatic methods and emotional skills, that you can use to reduce stress, and anxiety, reshape negative thinking, improve tension-filled relationships, and overall work towards being happier, healthier, and more productive. We may think of the mind as something intangible, but it lives in the body. By learning to support your mental processes and physical well-being, you can achieve balance and peace. No matter where you are on this journey, I will meet you there and support you.
Being a college student—while also navigating identity, familial expectations, social anxiety, academic pressures, substance use, sex, sexuality, and questions about the future—can be a lot. I get it. With personal experience in many of these areas and professional experience supporting youth and young adults through trauma, mental health challenges, and life transitions, I know how overwhelming this stage can feel. My name is Eric Almond, LMSW, and I’ve worked with youth in community programs, outpatient clinics, and campus-based support spaces. I also know what it's like to return to school after some time away, and the challenges that inevitably follow. Whether you're new to school, returning, or continuing later in life, I aim to create a space that feels grounding, warm, and affirming—one where you don’t have to have it all figured out to be taken seriously. You're allowed to show up just as you are, and we’ll work from there. I offer a free fifteen minute virtual consultation to see if we're a good fit. I work with individuals who are curious to pursue change - whether this be by reflecting on obstacles, with a specific goal in mind, or simply because something feels as if it is not "working" for them. One does not have to be 100% motivated to use therapy well, instead, s/he/they can come to sessions with any sense of willingness to explore.
Life can throw a lot at us. You may need a space where you can lay it all out without worrying about being judged. I provide a space where you can talk/vent about stuff like depression, grief, family stress, identity issues, the everyday frustrations, and even the messy in between. Nothing is too big or small to discuss. I work with people going through life transitions, relationships challenges, the ups and downs that come with being LGBTQ+, bicultural, or even navigating racial identity. I know how important it is to feel seen and understood. I make it a priority to create space to let it all out and do not hold anything back. Therapy with me is about honesty, connection, and real talk. In our sessions we will learn to process deeply, and move forward with clarity and purpose. We will figure things out together, at your pace, you can reset, find renewal, feel empowered and more in control of you.
Our group psychotherapy practice offers help with anxiety, depression, relationships, sleep (including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia), eating disorders, body image, grief, addiction, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our clients tend to be people who are successful in many ways and feel overwhelmed, lost, alone, or in need of some self-esteem building. We particularly love working with college students because by nature they are figuring out who they are and want to be, and the work we do together can be such an important and exciting part of that process. We welcome people from all backgrounds and are LGBTQ+-affirming. Please feel free to reach out - we would love to get to know you!
Hello! I'm a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in working with students who are feeling unseen in their relationships, or are navigating anxiety, self-doubt and adjustments to transitions in their lives. My therapeutic approach is centered on what you need. I encourage you to explore your strengths, and take charge in the care you are seeking. I take the time to get to know my clients deeply to understand their goals and needs to better help them feel comfortable.
My specialty is working with young adults who experience depression and anxiety regarding a variety of life stressors. As I am also a certified sex therapist, I focus on issues related to sex or sexual orientation, those who have experienced sexual trauma or reproductive trauma, family and relational issues, and individuals who need support creating a positive and pleasurable sex life. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and knowledgeable.
We assess each client's environment, family, biological factors, and experiences from childhood to the present day. We consider a strong therapeutic relationship to be the highest indicator of progress in therapy. Being able to be open with one another enhances the therapy process. Without a strong rapport between therapist and client, safety doesn't exist, and barriers to positive change exist. After gathering history and establishing rapport, we then tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. We provide EMDR (trauma therapy) as well as regular talk psychotherapy.
Stasia Timan, LPC, LMHC, is a licensed therapist in Connecticut and New York who provides individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, Stasia tailors each session to meet her clients’ unique goals and strengths. Her warm, collaborative approach fosters self-awareness, confidence, and resilience, helping clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes.
You are seeking therapy because you know it’s time for a change. Your anxiety or trauma have affected how you see and interact with the world, and feeling more at peace seems like a hard-to-reach place. Oftentimes, we’re our own worst critics. You may be telling yourself that you can’t meet your work or academic goals, address challenging relationship issues, or develop the self-esteem and creativity you need to succeed on your path in life. Your perspective of the world may have been shaped by childhood experiences you had little to no control over. Maybe you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and have lost the support of your family or loved ones due to issues related to your identity. Or perhaps you no longer know who you are anymore, don’t like who you are, or don’t know how to relate to other people. You’re here now because you’ve made the decision to become more aware of the negative self-talk that has been affecting daily functioning and ready to learn what to do with it when it comes around. In confronting your fears, and looking within yourself, you learn to understand how to make sense of the world, how to better cope with strategies and tools that are actually useful and your focus begins to shift to things that you can actually control. Seeking change is no small feat and takes incredible courage! Luckily, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Creating a safe space where you get to challenge those beliefs, invest in your well-being, and improve your overall life satisfaction is my highest priority.

Experience Psychotherapy is a psychotherapy practice grounded in the understanding that working with experience in the present moment is a profoundly powerful building block for promoting personal growth and health. I work with people collaboratively to develop the skills to navigate life and relationships with more confidence and flexibility. College is often a time in life of great growth and transition. This can be exciting, but also stressful and disorienting. Therapy can be a place to organize ourselves in the midst of these stressful periods. Michael can work with plans that have out of network coverage.
