Join me in learning the tools and skills to intentionally create the life that you desire. I work with clients who are looking to strengthen trust in themselves. My overarching goal for every client who comes to see me is for them to have a more loving, compassionate relationship to themselves, others, and their past. I use a holistic collaborative approach to counseling that recognizes our unique multidimensional nature, and honors the connection between mind, emotions, energy, and body. Birdie, my office puppy, is a gentle presence who offers passive emotional support to clients who enjoy animal companionship. I work with adults, college students, teens, adolescents, couples, and families, to: 1. Identify harmful thought and behavior patterns, 2. Understand what's at the root of these patterns, 3. Cultivate tools and behaviors that encourage, rather than inhibit, growth. I offer compassionate, honest feedback, providing an outside lens that will allow you to see yourself more clearly. I believe everyone has the tools within them to heal and grow. You can reconnect with your authentic and confident self. Let's rekindle the spark within you and heal the past that is holding you back from the life you desire. I would be honored to assist you in opening up paths to trusting yourself and healing your past in your journey to wholeness.

School can be some of the most rewarding years of your life but they can also be overwhelming. Between classes, internships, work, relationships, family expectations, finances, and figuring out who you are and where you're headed, sometimes it's good to have some extra support. Therapy gives you a place to talk openly about what's going on, without judgment. Whether you're feeling anxious, stressed, burned out, stuck, lonely, or simply trying to make sense of a major life transition, you don't have to navigate it alone. I work with college and graduate students on concerns such as anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, identity exploration, gender identity, academic stress, life transitions, binge eating, and body image. Many of my clients are also learning how to manage life on their own for the first time and are discovering that no one ever really taught them how to handle the emotional side of money. As a Certified Financial Social Worker, I can help you develop a healthier relationship with money, spending, debt, budgeting, and financial decision-making. Together, we can explore both the practical and emotional aspects of financial wellness so you feel more confident and in control. My style is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. I'll meet you where you are, help you build on your strengths, and offer practical tools along the way. If you're curious about working together, I'd be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit.

I proudly affirm and support clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds. College and young adulthood can feel overwhelming at times. College should be challenging, not crushing. Meru Health helps you find balance, clarity, and confidence so you can actually enjoy this chapter of your life. When achievement becomes a weight you can't carry When you need more than campus counseling can provide When homesickness feels like heartbreak When anxiety steals experiences you should be having When exhaustion becomes your identity. When the future feels like a storm cloud When old wounds won't heal on their own More support than weekly therapy alone Patients connect with a dedicated therapist and receive daily support between sessions, not just once a week. This ensures continuity through the unpredictable emotional shifts that follow major change.
I believe in the quiet brilliance that lives within everyone. A light that may flicker beneath exhaustion, doubt, or the weight of being everything to everyone, but never entirely goes out. You are the steady one, the go-to, the fixer of things. Yet in still moments, the whisper comes: "What if they find out I’m barely holding on?" Here, you are invited to lay it all down. To exhale. To listen inward. My mission is to help you return to your own knowing: the fierce, intuitive, radiant self that may have been buried beneath roles, expectations, and the noise of the world. Through thoughtful, compassionate therapy, I will help guide you, not toward becoming someone else, but toward remembering who you’ve always been.
In addition to my private practice, I also work at a university counseling center, which keeps me in tune and up to date on what today's college students are experiencing. I've worked with both traditional and non-traditional students throughout my career and enjoy helping students get back on their path to success. Many of the students I help are struggling with anxiety, depression, academic concerns, or family/relationship issues. My clients enjoy having a non-biased person to support them as they become more independent and explore who they are as a person. College is an exciting time, but can also be stressful and overwhelming. As human beings, we don't like change, and going to college means a lot of changes happening at once...again, exciting, but also scary! I help my clients learn the skills needed to feel capable, resilient, an ultimately successful in both their academic and personal life.

We live in a culture that constantly pushes us to do more, work harder, and question whether we’re ever “enough.” For many students, that pressure leads to stress, anxiety, and burnout. But thriving isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about finding balance, clarity, and a stronger sense of who you are and what you need. This work often extends into your relationships, your identity, and your sense of direction. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, explore what’s weighing on you, and develop a more grounded, sustainable way forward.

I have worked in the field of academic/school counseling, mental health counseling, private practice, and college/university counseling. For the past 13 years I have served on the Counseling staff at Davidson College. Counseling Background: Counseling is a collective effort between the individual and the counselor to help the individual draw from their natural strength and resources to accomplish a personal desire or goal. I believe that individuals come to Counseling because they are seeking something to be different in their lives. They may want to change their personal or family situation, solve a problem, or bring about a healthier balance in their lives. It is in the counseling process that individuals, families, and couples have a safe and nurturing environment to self-examine very challenging and sometimes painful issues to bring about change. My area of experience has been with individuals within the area of Anger Management, Anxiety, Attention Deficit Disorder, Border Personality, Chemical Dependence, Dependency, Depression, Grief/Loss, Intimate Relationship Conflicts, Low Self- Esteem, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other traumatic events. Additionally, my experience includes working with individuals, families, adults, adolescents, persons of color, and couples. Confidentiality: All of our communication becomes part of the clinical record, which is accessible to you upon request. I will keep confidential anything you say as part of our counseling relationship, with the following exceptions: (a) you direct me in writing to disclose information to someone else, (b) it is determined you are a danger to yourself or others (including child or elder abuse), (c) I am ordered by a court to disclose information, (d) If you desire to seek reimbursement from a managed care company, the disclosure of confidential information may be required for reimbursement, (e) In case of a Medical Emergency, or (f) These rights are waived if accusations of misconduct are brought. However, even under these circumstances, only essential information will be revealed, and as much as possible, you will be informed before confidentiality is broken. In the event, the client is a minor, parents or legal guardians may be included in the counseling process as appropriate. Still, measures will be taken to safeguard confidentiality, always acting in the best interest of the client.
My clients are exhausted and overwhelmed like you. They are tired of doing their best to keep all these balls (school, work, parenting, relationships, self-care, health and wellbeing, sleep + more) up in the air (even though admittedly they are pretty darn good at it). But when they inevitably drop a few because something else pops up or they get tired, life feels messy and they are quick to place judgements on themselves. My clients are expert problem solvers and doers, who in the face of stress, just keep going. Some are the type of person who the people in their life lean on for support. Some have tried a number of ways to fix or problem solve their way our of their emotions or exhaustion. They find their coping to work for a little bit but aren't moving them towards the life they imagined for themselves. Some realize they aren't sure they can keep up with all of what needs to be done to feel "okay". When some of my clients do take time for themselves or the rest they need, their mind struggles with feeling guilty, worrying about what they "should" be doing for work/school/person (fill in the blank with any responsibility). I help my clients get clearer on their wants, needs, and values while addressing some of the downfalls that come with always doing, fixing, and over functioning. I approach my work with clients through use of Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Somatic Experiencing. These two approaches help support internal reflection and clarity along with experiential, skills-based, and mindfulness practices.
