Sometimes the stress associated with being in school, learning who you are, developing relationships, and generally navigating college life can lead to feelings and experiences that are very difficult to navigate alone. Even the adjustment to college can be very challenging, and sometimes old patterns that you thought you left behind can start revealing themselves again. Perhaps new patterns are concerning you. It's okay to reach out for help. Feeling better is truly possible, even when it feels like it might not be, or that you don't really need help. You don’t have to live in pain, pretend that it’s all okay, or manage alone. Together we can find a way to more ease, love, understanding, and acceptance. The journey to self-love, healing and wholeness is full of discovery, and requires a trusting, therapeutic relationship. Finding a skilled therapist, who is a good fit for you is essential. If you think I might be a good fit for you, let's connect.

I offer 60 minute sessions and specialize in half day therapy retreats. A therapy retreat is an efficient and comprehensive pathway to heal trauma in consecutive days instead of over many years in weekly therapy, and can accelerate symptom relief. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Progressive Counting, and the Flash Technique to effectively heal the roots of distressing emotions and negative beliefs stored within traumatic memories. I bring my passion for somatic psychology, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and attachment theory to my therapeutic approach. I invite my clients to offer a gentle curiosity to all parts of themselves, so that together we may attune to what the body, heart, and spirit are most needing to restore wholeness. I offer Telehealth and in-person sessions at my Portland Old Port office. I welcome the opportunity to hear from you to determine if my services are a good fit for what you are seeking.

I am Social Worker (LICSW) who earned my Master’s in Social Work at the University of New Hampshire. I work with children, adolescents, young adults and families who are impacted by anxiety, depression, family conflict, school issues, grief and trauma. I have worked in both residential and outpatient settings. My approach is empathetic, validating and collaborative. I pull from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as mindfulness and play therapy. I believe each person’s therapy goal is unique and should be a collaborative effort between clinician and client . Building a therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively with a dedicated clinician can be both empowering and healing. I invite you to contact me if you feel we could be a good fit or if you have any questions.

Are you someone who knows how you'd like things to be, but have a hard time getting there? You are definitely not alone. Change is hard. The good news is that change is also possible. I specialize in working with female-identified college students and other adults who are successful in many ways, but have had challenges sticking with counseling in the past. This could be for different reasons, such as difficulties trusting the process of therapy or difficulty establishing a trusting relationship that allows for fully engaging in counseling. Together, we can create a space where change feels possible and progress feels sustainable, whether in short-term solution-focused work or longer-term therapy. I worked in higher education for over 20 years, so I have a strong understanding of campus life and the student experience. If you believe that I could be a good match for you, please reach out and schedule a free 20 minute consultation to discuss your goals and hopes for therapy. If you go to my website, you can schedule it yourself.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker in Massachusetts, and Vermont with over 20 years of experience, helping adults and teens (16+) find greater balance, connection in their lives. My work focuses on supporting those managing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, or self-esteem challenges. I approach therapy through a mind-body lens, integrating polyvagal informed therapy, EMDR, Internal family systems, mindfulness-based practices, CBT, and trauma informed care. These approaches honor the wisdom of your body and help you understand how your nervous system responds to stress together will work to build regulation, resilience, and a deeper sense of safety from within. Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and compassionate. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself and gently shift patterns that no longer serve you. Healing is a gradual process, and it begins with learning to listen-really listen- to your body and inner experience. If this approach resonates with you, I’d be glad to connect and see how we can begin this work together.

Welcome to Insights Psychological Services. College and graduate school can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. You may be juggling academic pressure, relationships, career decisions, family expectations, identity, and the constant feeling that you should be doing more—or handling it all better. At Insights, we provide virtual therapy for college students, graduate students, young adults, professionals, and couples throughout Massachusetts. Our therapists take a warm, relational approach to therapy. We believe that feeling understood, comfortable, and genuinely connected with your therapist is an important part of creating meaningful and lasting change. **We are currently welcoming new clients with Dr. Samantha Jackson, our postdoctoral fellow at Insights.** Dr. Jackson provides a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative space for clients who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply. She especially enjoys working with college and graduate students, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, perfectionism, burnout, and major life transitions. Dr. Jackson takes a relational and psychodynamically informed approach, helping clients explore not only what they are experiencing, but also the patterns, relationships, and experiences that may be contributing to how they feel today. Her goal is to create a space where clients can feel genuinely heard and comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful change. More broadly, our clinicians at Insights frequently work with anxiety, depression or low mood, ADHD, perfectionism, burnout, stress, panic, OCD tendencies, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, family-of-origin issues, trauma, and major life transitions. We also support clients exploring racial and cultural identity, gender and sexual identity, sexual health, neurodivergence, and religious or existential concerns. Therapy doesn't have to be another place where you're expected to have everything figured out. It can be a space to slow down, better understand yourself and your patterns, work through what's getting in the way, and develop healthier ways of navigating your relationships and your life. **Dr. Jackson currently has immediate telehealth openings for new clients.** We offer a **free 20-minute consultation** so you can meet with us, ask questions, and see whether Dr. Jackson—or another therapist at Insights—feels like the right fit. To learn more about Insights or request a consultation, visit [www.insightspsychologicalservices.org](http://www.insightspsychologicalservices.org). We look forward to connecting with you. *Dr. Samantha Jackson is a postdoctoral fellow at Insights Psychological Services and practices under clinical supervision.*

I believe that each and every one of us is the expert of our own lives, but sometimes we feel overwhelmed and need guidance as we navigate life's challenges. This gets more challenging if you're an LGBTQ+ person in the south, but working with an affirming, competent therapist can make a big difference. I help transgender folx and other members of the LGBTQ+ community explore their identity, develop self-esteem, and improve their relationships. My approach to therapy is queer competent, gender affirming, sex positive, kink affirming, and poly affirming. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore their problems fully without fear of judgment. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to stand by my clients as they courageously make changes necessary to live fulfilling lives. In addition to individual therapy, I also offer comprehensive assessments and letters of support for transgender folx who are seeking gender-affirming surgeries.
