Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
Psychiatry and primary care stand at the heart of holistic healthcare, combining the expertise of mental and physical well-being to treat the whole person. In today’s world, where the complexities of life often challenge both the mind and body, the integration of psychiatry and primary care is more essential than ever. This collaboration not only addresses physical ailments but also recognizes the profound impact mental health has on overall wellness. By bridging the gap between emotional and physical care, psychiatry and primary care create a comprehensive approach, empowering individuals to lead healthier, more balanced lives. Together, they offer hope, healing, and the opportunity for every person to achieve their full potential, mentally and physically.
I create a positive and empathetic environment where you can feel validated and empowered. My approach is to support you in breaking cycles to create healthier patterns of behavior. Together, we can explore how intergenerational patterns of trauma may inform and repeat in your life and learn how to shift the narrative. I can help in learning techniques for better communication and boundary setting, as well as how to put yourself first. I specialize in trauma-informed care, including complex, childhood, and sexual trauma. I focus on PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict, and gender identity and sexuality. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including IFS, psychodynamic, relational therapy, and mindfulness practice.
I believe we all grow and heal differently. Sometimes it's through exercise, music, quality time with loved ones or the occasional tv marathon; and sometimes it's through the relationship created in therapy where your whole self can be seen without judgment or shame. I support high schoolers, college & graduate students, and adults dealing with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, major life & relationship transitions, identity development, as well as those seeking an edge in sport/mental performance. I bring an honest, curious, and eclectic approach, striving to make therapy flexible and interactive. I am solution-focused, often combining IFS and CBT with motivational enhancement, mind-body integration, mindfulness, and positive psychology. I aim to highlight and expand your compassion, courage, confidence, and coping skills. If you are adjusting to something new, discovering who you are, or motivated to make a meaningful change, let's dive in. Together, we will work towards harnessing your inner strengths while mending the parts that make life feel challenging. I look forward to greeting you with patience, acceptance, and warmth.
Are you searching for a compassionate guide on your journey to healing and self-discovery? If you're an individual navigating mental and emotional well-being, my aim is to be your ongoing support. Whether you're dealing with the weight of depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, adjustment difficulties, or life transitions, I am here to provide a safe and nurturing space where you can find solace and growth. Together, we'll work towards discovering the underlying causes of your struggles, creating a path towards resilience, improved relationships, and a more fulfilling life.
I provide a safe, open environment to talk about any and all experiences or feelings. Some clients come for help through a short time period, or want to look at longer term issues and to make changes in their lives. Sometimes, it is simply to talk with an unbiased, nonjudgmental listener. Whichever it may be, I am privileged to take the journey with you. I will understand you as as a whole person, rather than a series of symptoms and diagnoses. I will pay attention to your background, your strengths, and the way we work together in addition to the presenting problem/s. I have worked in a variety of settings in the area, from several college counseling centers, community mental health facilities, and private practice. I draw upon this diverse training and experience to work with my clients.
I work with college students navigating stress, anxiety, mood concerns, and life transitions. I take a supportive, collaborative approach that focuses on helping students understand their emotions, identify patterns, and develop practical coping skills that can be used both in and outside of sessions. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel comfortable showing up as you are—no pressure to have everything figured out.
The college years can be such a challenging time, as they often come with their own set of unique challenges. A time of growth, but also changes and transitions that are new and stressful. My practice is dedicated to providing a supportive, confidential space where we can talk through these experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and thrive both in school and in life. I have a direct, strength based approach, and focus on finding solutions and strategies that work in your everyday life. I'm passionate about helping young adults manage anxiety, overcome self-doubt, and address the mental health challenges that can impact their academic success and overall well-being. I look forward to hearing from you! Please reach out with any questions, or if you would like a consult. I am located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, but am also licensed in New Hampshire and Maine for Telehealth sessions.
I work with teens and adults to provide a gentle approach to reflecting and engaging with complex emotions. I sit with my clients through their challenges and play an active role in helping them finding hope, understanding, and resolutions. I work with individuals who have experienced grief/loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, challenges in relationships, and difficult life transitions. I love using art therapy to increase insight and awareness into our thoughts and feelings. I am also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and use this modality to help clients identify and reprocess memories that have contributed to the beliefs they hold about themselves. Whether you are at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or sensing your life is not what it could be, help is available. As helpers, we are committed to meeting you exactly where you are by using our collection of professional tools to assist you to reach your highest potential through connection to your “true” self, the part of you who is waiting to be rediscovered and made manifest. Our orientation as therapists combines our understanding of human development, psychology, and behavioral change with wisdom and practice that is woven through most spiritual traditions. You need not consider yourself a spiritual person, nor do we insist on a particular belief system. This is only to say that our orientation integrates this awareness as an element of healing. Our ultimate goal is to empower you to free yourself from the patterns that keep you from fully thriving and to help you create the life you want to be living. It is an act of courage, not weakness, to allow others to help you.
