*When emailing me, please specify what you are seeking therapy for!* My practice is rooted in the belief that everyone is worthy of health, recovery, and a positive relationship with food and their body, no matter their size. My goal is to create a space that feels safe and supportive enough to make positive change happen. I specialize in eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, OSFED), self-esteem challenges, anxiety disorders, depression, and self-harming behaviors in young adults (18+) and adults and am currently the assistant clinical director of a nationally recognized eating disorder outpatient program. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). My approach is strengths-based and person-centered, with the belief that therapy is not "one size fits all." We will work as a team to figure out what is most supportive and effective for you. Recovering from disordered eating in a society that encourages it IS possible. If you are ready to take the next step in your recovery, I would love to schedule a phone consultation with you to see if we would be a good fit.

I have worked with people of all backgrounds but I generally work with women and the LGBT community. I work with clients on self-esteem, body positivity, anxiety management, trauma symptoms, and relational issues. As a human and a provider, I am feminist, anti-racist, fat positive, sex positive, pro-science, pro-vaccine, and pro-LGBT. My approach is varied depending on the individual's history with treatment. For people new to therapy, it may be helpful to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT involves looking at thoughts patterns and behaviors that may be creating obstacles in your life and setting up appropriate coping skills to address those issues. For people who come to therapy for the purpose of processing trauma, a trauma-informed, relational approach is necessary. For people who are looking to gain understanding about how their past intersects with their present behaviors, insight oriented therapy would be the best approach. I am not a "Listen and Nod" therapist. I will actively listen, provide you with feedback and analysis, and be open with you about your diagnosis, prognosis, and any treatments indicated. With full transparency, I say that I am not a validation-only therapist. Some folks want a therapist who will listen and validate without providing feedback or analysis. That is not my style. I will, however, work with you to figure out exactly how you can benefit from therapy.

Working with young adults and colleges students struggling with anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and relationship challenges is something I've had the privilege to do for more than 15 years. I have expertise working with individuals with anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I received my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and my Doctorate from Widener University. I have a passion for supporting my clients through challenges and growth in their lives. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration. We will work together to learn how to reduce and manage symptoms in ways that make sense to you given your own unique personal and cultural background. Drawing most heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) our sessions will focus on empirically supported treatments that have been shown to help individuals make tangible and concrete changes in their lives. I utilize a warm, engaging style to help those I work with develop your strengths and gain insight into patterns that are hindering you from achieving your potential in all areas of life. The opportunity to be a part of someone’s journey while they make changes in their life is the ultimate privilege. I invite individuals to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to make sure that we are a good fit and to answer any questions you have about what to expect in treatment. I look forward to taking steps in our work together.

Do you feel stuck or alone? Do you find yourself comparing your life to others? Do you desire a better tomorrow? To acknowledge that you are experiencing something that may benefit from professional support is a powerful first step. You may be noticing changes in your mood, behaviors, or personality as a result of the stressors you currently face or have faced. With my collaboration and support, you can develop the skills you need to cope with life's stressors and ultimately achieve lasting psychological growth. For individuals, I specialize in the management and symptom reduction of depressive and anxiety disorders, as well as effective navigation of life transitions, relationship issues and identity formation (i.e. values identification, development of self-esteem, purpose finding/meaning making). I engage clients through a collaborative, integrative approach to foster learning of necessary skills and development of greater insight. Please note my fee for individual therapy is $200/session. For couples, I specialize in the pursuit of client-identified goals through effective communication, conflict resolution, and applicable skill building. I work with all consensual couples, whether they choose to grow, maintain, or end their relationship, regardless of monogamy status, sexuality, and sexual activity preferences. I'm a PhD psychologist, with advanced training beyond my doctorate from Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. My orientation is relational, psychodynamic therapy. This means I focus with you on whatever dynamics might have been set in motion when you were younger as well as with present day difficulties. I work with people who are struggling with feelings of sadness and anxiety, worries about self esteem, identity, friendships, relationships and career issues among many other things. Sometimes there are struggles with issues about being away from home at school, or issues about entering adulthood. I am happy to try and help with the things troubling you.I've worked with many students both undergraduates and graduate students and enjoy helping young adults sort through what might be troubling to find a more satisfying and happier way of being.

Hello! Thank you for your interest in starting therapy. I have a lot of experience supporting college and advanced degree students who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, and stress. I take a CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), goals-focused approach. I am licensed in Massachusetts and New York and I can see students in either state--in fact, I work with a number of students who go to school in MA but live in NY when they are not on campus and vice versa. I'd be happy to set up a time to talk so you can ask any questions that you have to see if it would be a good fit for you.
