I believe emotional healing happens in a therapeutic relationship. I offer relations-oriented, emotion-focused psychotherapy to clients interested in relieving symptoms, identifying patterns, resolving conflicts, building satisfying relationships, finding fulfillment in life, etc. My work is trauma-informed due to my passion for trauma treatment, especially that of developmental trauma, and an understanding that traumatic experience is existentially inevitable in human life. I also have a particular interest in helping college/graduate students, parents having young children, and new immigrants navigate challenging life situations. Guided by a humanistic and dynamic approach, I help people create desired, lasting changes. Our work together will be highly individualized, to first gain a thorough understanding of you and then meet your unique needs towards emotional growth and other goals. My rich cross-cultural experience is a valuable asset in my work with diverse populations. Life is a journey and can be turbulent. I would like to be a travel companion in your journey of self-exploration, self-discovery, and self-improvement!
Central to the therapy process is connecting with someone with whom you can openly explore your past and present; thoughts, feelings, and wishes. As a therapist I am committed to helping you understand the important experiences and patterns that have influenced your life and begin to find openings for new insights and greater meaning. This can allow for personal growth, more fulfilling relationships, and improved coping with difficulties. My style is collaborative, supportive and interactive. My approach involves both facilitating personal exploration and helping you find new strategies for managing difficulty. People who come to see me are often struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, eating/body image concerns, or struggling with transitions in young adulthood

Welcome! I’m Lauren Cohen, a licensed independent clinical social worker, and I’m so glad you’re here. A bit about me: I’m a Los Angeles native, and a White, Jewish, cis-gendered (she/her) clinician. I am open about these parts of my identity when we work together - and strive to create a space where all of your parts always feel seen and welcome. I’ve always been fascinated by emotions, relationships, and behavior. My love for learning about different people has taken me to over 25 countries. Traveling has given me a profound understanding of human nature, “sameness”, and also the vast complexities of different cultures. Outside of sessions, I love creating pottery, being in nature, a good sunset swim, & trying new foods with my family and friends. I approach therapy with a dynamic and evolving perspective, tailoring my methods to meet your unique needs. Psychodynamic theory, Attachment theory, and Mindfulness are foundational to my work, and I am also a Level 1 trained therapist in Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS allows us to explore the different “parts” of your identity, by uncovering truths and developing your own inner healer. I believe healing comes from building a trusting relationship between mind and body, and creating space for your authentic self to emerge. Meditation and breathwork are often utilized to connect you with your mind’s eye and core self. My approach to therapy is warm, kind and playful. I have a deeply non-judgmental attitude, providing a space where you can feel safe and supported as we navigate the complexities of your inner world. I also embrace the deeper, darker aspects of self, recognizing that these parts of your experience can hold wisdom and strength - the shadow is always welcome in our work.

I am an experienced psychotherapist (LICSW) and Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) working with individuals, couples and groups. I hold a PhD in biochemistry, which informs my work in psychotherapy by integrating current research in neurobiology into my treatment approach. I believe in the resilience of every human being and work to capitalize on the best in people I work with. I specialize in attachment trauma, loss, relationship issues, challenging life transitions and the negative coping styles that often accompany them. I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an emotionally focused therapy heavily informed by neurobiology and how we heal relationally as social beings. Alongside of understanding you through your relationships and life experiences, we will highlight new experiences and positive change that will help you reach your goals. For more about AEDP go to www.AEDPInstitute.org. My broader training consists of proactive cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness techniques, stress reduction strategies, and relational and communication tools. My goal in working with you is to actively move you toward your goals. I run relationship groups for people who struggle with relationship issues. Please see my website for further information. My practice is LGBTQ welcoming and multiculturally informed.

Hello! My background is working with teens, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in depression, self-esteem, anxiety, as well as mood and personality disorders like bipolar and borderline personality disorders. Sessions lead with a person-centered approach and evidence-based practices. My style is warm and fun, partly so you can feel like you took a breath of fresh air, at the same time as reaching your goals. I value the importance of trust when working with my clients. Together, we will create an individualized plan where you approve each decision. The purpose would be to have clear goals, monitor progress, and efficiency. I recently started my own practice, after being an associate therapist for a group for 3+ years. Environments that emphasized the importance of providing compassionate and quality care, with confidence to handle any complex situation. Anyone who tries to make the commitment to start therapy deserves a lot of credit! In my experience, what sets apart a good from a great therapist is having an innate ability to empathize and listen. I make this standard. There is a special purpose in feeling seen. For more info schedule a free consult! I look forward to meeting!
Margot brings a warm and interactive style to her psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as “eclectic,” as she believes that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), Margot will tailor her practice to people’s individual needs depending on the particular issues they would like to address in therapy. Margot is committed to serving traditionally marginalized communities including people of color, queer and transgender/gender non-conforming people, poly and kink identified people, and people with disabilities. Allison loves working individually with young adults. She enjoys helping people with a variety of mental illnesses, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, transitional related stress, and stress due to family dynamics. Allison also enjoys helping people with general stress related to changes in life or general dissatisfaction with parts of your life. Allison practices from a client-centered approach, using a variety of techniques and through talk therpay. Allison believes in building a relationship with a client and working with them from where they are at, as opposed to using 1 specific technique to assist all clients. Allison believes that all clients are experts in their own lives. Life can throw some real challenges out at times and sometimes, we all just need an extra person in our corner. If you are struggling and looking for a non-judgemental person to talk to, please feel free to reach out to me.
I have been in private practice in the Boston/Cambridge area for 30 years working with adults and adolescents, couples and families. I work with clients utilizing a trauma informed lens as well as elements of liberation psychology and relational cultural theory. I feel all clinical work must begin with a thorough understanding of a client's multiple identities and how those identities interact within their communities and the larger culture. My work and my passion are embedded in a deep committment to social justice. I specialize in multicultural treatment, identity development, trauma, depression, anxiety, work issues, life transitions, parenting issues, adoption, fertility issues, gender issues and sexuality. I serve as the Director of the Brandeis Counseling Center at Brandeis University and in that role help students and faculty navigate academia. I see clients in my office at 1105 Mass Ave in Cambridge which is a 5-10 min walk from the Harvard T stop. I also offer off street parking on Remington Street across from 1105 Mass Ave. My hours are 6am-8am Mon-Fri, Thurs 5pm-10pm and Sat 7am-3pm.
