**Daytime availability only.** I provide psychotherapy to individuals with a variety of concerns including anxiety, loneliness, relationship struggles, and transitions. My approach is to balance warmth and humor with feedback and direction. Young adults are an age with whom I have significant experience and enjoy working. Regardless of what brings you here, my goal is for you to feel understood and accepted as you are today, while hopeful about the changes you seek. My clinical orientation is strength based and relationship centered, incorporating psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques. Racial and ethnic identity development is a key element of my training as well, and I use a multicultural lens with all clients. Please contact me to discuss your needs and to determine whether we might be a good fit.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with couples across the lifespan. In my practice, I often work with young couples who are learning to create a shared identity. I help young couples with tasks like managing emotions during conflicts, negotiating boundaries, and gaining a deeper understanding of their attachment needs. Romantic relationships have a deep impact on our mental and physical well-being and as a couples therapist, I help couples find the stability and comfort they seek from their relationship.
I offer a non-judgmental, caring, and collaborative approach to therapy. My style is both relationship-driven and informed by evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies. I am also a registered yoga teacher, and I may integrate breathing and relaxation exercises into sessions if that matches with a client's interests and needs. (And if not, that's fine, too!) I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and provide affirming care. I have extensive experience helping people with eating disorders, as well as many other mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and adjustment issues. I completed my post-graduate fellowship in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston, where I was a member of the Eating Disorders Team, and I worked worked as a clinician in Student Mental Health & Counseling at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I was also on the Eating Concerns Team. I offer in-person sessions in Wellesley Hills on Tuesdays and Thursdays and virtual sessions Monday-Friday. If you are interested in scheduling a session outside of the times listed on my schedule, please reach out, and I'll let you know if I'm able to accommodate the request.

I am especially eager to work with couples (polyamorous and monogamous alike), queer and trans folks, the disabled and chronically ill community, and people working on body positivity/neutrality. I have worked with college students struggling with a wide range of difficulties and acuity over the past decade plus, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I have a casual yet professional style, and prioritize creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can increase awareness of their emotional and relational patterns. I pull from several orientations, including psychodynamic/relational, emotion-focused, CBT, acceptance-based, and compassion-based approaches in order to make sense of your difficulties with you and to identify ways to change, or as is the case in the many situations that we can’t change, learn to relate to it differently. My clients express appreciation for my transparent, collaborative, compassionate, and well-informed approach. I am interested and have experience in working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities. I try to understand clients in context and I seek to bring in societal issues and -isms to understand clients experiences in the world. I am open to talking about my own identity and position in society. I have openings for telehealth clients located in Massachusetts, NC, or any participating Psypact state. I accept Aetna in MA. I accept Aetna and BCBS in NC. Please email me if you would like to schedule a free initial call to answer any questions and assess whether we may be a good match.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist and I draw from my 10+ years of experience in College Mental Health to provide care to students preparing for and managing the mental health challenges of college. I strongly believe in evaluating and treating the whole person and in meeting you where you are with a goal of helping you find the path to your best possible self. I have a particular interest in anxiety related disorders and utilize a holistic approach to managing anxiety and helping students optimize wellness. I incorporate skills from CBT, ACT, and Mindfulness into my therapy practice. I utilize medication management if and when indicated to optimize treatment. Due to my limited office hours, I am not equipped to treat conditions that could require urgent and immediate care and thus if you are struggling with chronic or treatment-resistant resistant mood disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, addictions, severe eating disorders, or chronic suicidality, I recommend you seek care through a health system or provider that offers more services suited to best meet your needs.
I approach each client with a wide angle view–considering all the factors that contribute to a client’s presenting concerns. For those interested in traditional psychotherapy, I draw from 20+ years of experience using a range of therapeutic interventions (psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness focused) to offer individual and parent support services. In recent years I have been expanding my expertise and services to include other holistic modalities, specifically biofield tuning, which has allowed options for using sound and energy focused work to address emotional issues. For interested clients, I weave together the benefits of psychotherapy with biofield tuning to create a unique healing experience.

In our work together I would take a blended therapeutic approach and individualize treatment based on your personal needs, strengths, and goals. My professional journey is deeply rooted in a commitment to fostering healing and resilience in the lives of individuals facing emotional challenges. I have worked for over 15 years with children, adolescents, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed with worry, stress, and trauma. One of the most rewarding age groups I work with are young adults, navigating transition to college and their experiences throughout. Their progress and bravery has inspired me to narrow my focus to deliver the highest quality care with empathy and thoughtfulness. My focus has been dialectical behavior therapy, treating anxiety with cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, helping clients find a life worth living beyond their depression, combining behavioral interventions with cognitive strategies, and helping clients take control of their lives by actively making changes. Our past experiences contribute to who we are today but do not have to control our future.
At North Star Therapy, I offer a compassionate, evidence-based and solution-focused approach to mental health. I am dedicated to providing clients with tools and strategies that will stay with them for life. I am committed to supporting and guiding you, helping you overcome any obstacle, and taking the first step towards a brighter tomorrow. I have worked and trained across a variety of therapeutic/clinical settings, including public schools (k-12), Lead Clinician for a school district, a 'Big Ten' university, hospital in-patient and intensive outpatient settings, and private practice. In 2019, I leaned into mindfulness, meditation and the power of somatic exercises by completing a comprehensive 200-hour yoga teacher training program. Additionally, I am a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor; Be Body Positive Facilitator; and DBT certified to facilitate skills groups.
