It can be one of the most difficult steps to make that first phone call for therapy. Typically, we are making that call when life feels the most stressful or when we are feeling at our most vulnerable. I strive to support the courage, strength, and determination involved in seeking support. Described by clients as caring, supportive, and warm, I believe each person possesses innate skills and strengths that can be utilized within therapy. I value strengths-based, person-in-environment, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational therapeutic approaches to support each individual’s intrinsic worth and value. I love working with adults, couples, and families to explore difficulties in coping emotionally, breaking the cycle of addiction or substance use, balancing life stressors, establishing self-esteem, setting healthy boundaries, and maintaining healthy relationships. I strive to help you find your voice, offer new coping skills, and explore presenting concerns within a non-judgmental and warm environment. Think we might be a good fit? Revelare Recovery is a Women’s PHP & IOP program designed to address co-occurring diagnoses of an Eating Disorder (ED) alongside a secondary Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Mental Health diagnosis. It operates at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care. One important aspect of this program is that it provides supportive housing for clients who reside outside of the Atlanta market. This housing arrangement ensures that clients have a safe and structured environment during their treatment period. Our supportive housing program consists of two phases: Phase 1, which lasts for 30 days and is conducted primarily in the PHP setting, and Phase 2, which lasts an additional 30 days and takes place primarily in the IOP setting. The program specifcally caters to women, recognizing their unique needs in the context of EDs and co-occurring disorders. By focusing exclusively on women, the program can tailor its treatment approaches to address the specific challenges and experiences that women may face.

I'm Emily, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Atlanta area. I view therapy as a combination of deep introspection along with more immediate, concrete change. In our work together, we will explore underlying themes, patterns, and narratives, and we will also focus on more immediate skill-building and behavioral change. I lean heavily on General Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems and other modalities to support you in deeper exploration. Whereas I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Solution-Focused Therapy to assist you in creating more concrete, immediate changes. I work best with clients who are engaged and motivated to learn about themselves; therapy should feel like a conversation. It is my ultimate belief that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and many of my clients would describe my style as down-to-earth, direct, and non-judgmental.
Trauma and pain from past and present experiences can stop you in your tracks, leaving you stuck in the same patterns, of thinking, feeling and behaving that eventually lead to building a life of obligation, duty and fear rather than one of fulfillment, meaning and connection. But with a little help, you can pause, learn tools, gain insights and figure out where and how you need to change direction. You are not responsible for everything that has happened to you AND you are responsible for making meaning from the life you are living. How you do this depends on whom you believe yourself to be. Our work will help you to heal YOU. I understand the connection between empowerment and recovery and believe our choices can change our lives. My work includes: trauma survivors, PTSD, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, substance use and general/social stressors. My clients include : therapists, all genders, LGBTQ, veterans, African Americans, and diverse races/ethnicities. I have nearly 10 years of practice experience, using multiple approaches to help move you from where you are to where you would like to be. I look forward to our work together.
Therapy is a journey into yourself. It is choosing to step forward into growth rather than shy back into what is safe and comfortable. When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. This process of self-discovery isn’t easy, but certainly worth it! My approach to counseling is that of being direct, honest, and straightforward. I work hard to balance that with care, compassion, and empathy. I will push you, but not past your limits. At times it may feel as if I am pushing you past your limits but that is because often times we aren’t able to see our true potential.
My mission is to foster healing, growth, and a strong sense of self in each of my clients. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to thrive. My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic. I pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build coping strategies and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance mindfulness and emotion regulation. And, as a former Registered Behavior Technician, I use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach behavior modification strategies. I am a music lover, avid reader, and proud member of the Atlanta Jewish community. I am a “lifelong” camper, attending overnight summer camp as both a camper and staff member for over ten years. Before pursuing my Masters in Social Work at UGA, I worked as a fourth grade teaching assistant and a behavioral therapist for children with severe autism.
I believe therapy can be a transformative experience, and it requires a lot of courage to take that first step toward healing. As a therapist, I use a warm, interpersonal approach, drawing from attachment theory, internal family systems (IFS), somatics, and DBT. I help clients find purpose and meaning in life, feel a sense of safety in their bodies, and understand their own behavioral and attachment patterns. I enjoy working with young adults struggling with a sense of self and identity, those with personality and mood disorders, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals questioning their sexuality and/or gender presentation. I can’t wait to accompany you on this journey.

Does it ever feel like it's all too much? Whether you feel overwhelmed by heaviness in your relationships, family, from symptoms, or the current cultural moment, we've all experienced that overwhelming feeling. My clients often come seeking support around anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms, substance use, trauma, and challenging family dynamics. While so much of the wounding we experience centers around our relationships, I believe healing happens through relationships also. Therapy is the opportunity to have someone walk alongside you, and I would be honored to be part of your journey. My diverse experience in the mental health field includes work in residential treatment centers for substance use disorders, recovery programs for adult survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, child advocacy centers, residential programs for adolescents, and international initiatives supporting survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse.

Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s okay not to have all the answers. I offer a supportive space to explore your story and take steps toward meaningful change. I work with those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, perfectionist tendencies, and life transitions. I’m especially passionate about supporting current and former athletes as they rediscover identity beyond sport(s). Using an empowerment-based, CBT & DBT techniques, Adlerian, and family systems approach, I help clients build resilience, find clarity, and move forward with confidence. I help high achievers of all facets explore how they became who they are today, understand how their mindset & perfectionistic tendencies impact their daily life, & learn healthier ways to navigate pressure, performance expectations, and the world around them. Across all areas, I seek to help clients foster resilience and empowerment in their lives. Reaching out for support takes courage, and it’s normal to feel uncertain about where to begin. My goal is to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel understood and supported. Together, we can work toward building resilience, discovering strengths, and moving forward with greater clarity and confidence.
