I believe therapy should be a place where you can explore all parts of yourself, find your voice, and build a life that feels true to who you are. Whether you're navigating identity, life transitions, relationships, self-worth, boundaries, learning to prioritize your own needs, or the anxiety and depression that can come along with it all, I'm here to support you. I'll help you notice patterns, ask the questions that spark reflection, and create a space where we can be honest, curious, and probably laugh together too.

You are the expert on you. I simply seek to work alongside you as a collaborator in your personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. I am certified in EMDR, and I have knowledge and training in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and prenatal/postpartum concerns. We do serious work in session, but I approach my work with lightness, and I firmly believe that lightness lends itself to true connection, growth, and even laughter. I work primarily with adolescents and adults who face relationship challenges, complex trauma, and utilize an eclectic approach. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with many of my clients who have experienced trauma.

Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. Many people see therapy as a never ending cycle of therapists sitting with a notepad repeating, "How does that make you feel?". I can assure therapy with me is never a cliche. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always asking why me. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. Others you want to burst into tears or moments you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life.

I believe every one of us is a good person at heart, we are all trying our best and laziness is a myth. You may have a hard time believing that about yourself. You may have been taught (by families or systems) that you are bad, lazy or selfish. You are scared to make decisions or trust your intuition. You want to love yourself the way you love others! I offer a radically different perspective. I think it is possible to love yourself a little bit at a time, take things less personally and create more space in your life for peace.

Congratulation on taking the first step in seeking positive changes in your life. Whether you are dealing with past hurt that is causing you pain, or your present life feels unmanageable, a young adult having difficulty finding your way, teen struggling to connect, there is hope. As a therapist my primary goal is to create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space in which you can openly share, explore and achieve a greater self-awareness. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specialize in working with and teens (12-19), young adults (20 -30s), adults and families that are looking to overcome anxieties, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship and family issues. In practice I utilize evidence-based interventions based in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and family system approaches. In my work with adolescents and young adults I enjoy guiding as they learn to identify and express new emotions in a health way. I have a passion for helping them process strong emotions and overwhelming pressures they often encounter as they journey to adulthood. It is my desire to help identify strengths, re-frame perception and modify behaviors to facilitate long term changes.

Hello! I'm so glad you're here! I work with folks who have learned to survive and navigate the world by making themselves small, putting their heads down, and doing the hard things that no one else will. They are intelligent, resourceful, and strong, so it is tempting to feel like if they try harder, think more, or be less themselves- all their feelings, challenges, or circumstances will change. But that hasn't been working. Often, they find themselves at the end of their rope, exhausted, disappointed, and unable to trust anyone- even themselves. If that sounds like you, I’m here to tell you- you are not alone. You deserve to be the fullest version of yourself with all the gentleness, acceptance, and support you dreamed of at the end of that rope. My goal for my clients is to work together to untangle the web of experiences, beliefs, and expectations that makes them feel stuck in survival mode, find healing, and move forward with self-compassion and hope. I view my role in therapy as a partner and a safe environment for my clients as they learn to hear, trust, and use their voices after the world has worked tirelessly to keep them quiet. I thrive in the real, raw, and grounded parts of life and hold space for my clients as they learn to unpack, access, and integrate their truth in those areas.

As you prepare to address problem areas in your life, finding the right person to work with to help and support you as you move forward toward your goals, is the first step. My therapy practice focuses primarily on children, families and young adults. I believe that better communication and understanding can be key in building better relationships. Typical sessions involve the basics of support, and building on the existing strengths of a person as well as developing better techniques in managing difficult emotional problems. Psychoeducation, which involves helping to understand the mental health symptoms that are being presented and learning how to manage them, as well as skills to build deficits with anger control, social interactions and stress relief, are also taught. Working together on ways to decrease difficult symptoms, such as clients providing better self care skills, building strong coping skills and having improved perspectives is essential to a healthier well being. My role as your therapist is that through the supportive and close therapeutic relationship, you will gain insight and motivation to work toward change. I am currently licensed in NC, GA and am a Certified Telehealth Practitioner in Florida. I am only able to see clients virtually in FL and NC.

As a black queer woman working within both for-profit and non-profit spaces for over 10 years, I became increasingly aware of the need for dedicated restorative and affirming safe spaces for BIPOC and Queer folx. Thus, at Growth Explored my intention is to curate an environment that not only allows individuals to observe their own thoughts and feelings as relates to their behavior but additionally understand how external factors such as discrimination impact response to and perceptive of life experiences. If you find yourself feeling disconnected from the things around you, lacking motivation for the things that once excited you and going through the motions; there is room for you here. Let us collaborate to develop a plan that empowers you by evoking change through tapping into your emotions. I specialize in sex therapy and relationship counseling for LGBTQ+, gender-expansive, kink-involved, and consensually non-monogamous adults. Many of my clients are navigating desire discrepancies, identity transitions, communication challenges, or persistent shame around sexuality and intimacy. You may feel capable and self-aware in most areas of life yet unsettled in your closest relationships. Together, we will connect the dots between present triggers and earlier relational experiences so recurring patterns can be understood and shifted with intention. Therapy with me is relational, direct, and grounded in an intersectional framework. I integrate sex therapy, narrative approaches, and practical communication tools to help clients identify patterns and take active steps toward change. While we address complex and vulnerable topics, humor and honesty create space for authenticity and connection. It makes sense if you feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure where to begin. Therapy can be a place to explore your identity and relationships without carrying the burden of explanation or self-protection. If you’re ready to engage deeply and take an active role in meaningful change, I invite you to connect.

An inherent promise of the therapeutic relationship is that it offers us the possibility of grace - to be accepted for who we are. This is why I strive in my practice to connect individuals with the "curious paradox" that Carl Rogers spoke of - namely, "when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." My years in practice have led me to appreciate how the most impactful change in therapy comes not through the exorcising of some fundamental flaw - i.e. "I will love myself only when I am not myself" - but through fostering a more intimate relationship to ourselves, friends, those we call family, and to our communities. I possess a gentle strength and innate curiosity, and I utilize an integrative approach that incorporates interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as somatic practices. I am also a certified grief therapist. I work with adult (18+) clients seeking support for anxiety and mood disorders, shame/self esteem concerns, grief work, creativity, and personal growth. In addition, I have a life-long involvement in the arts, so I welcome the opportunity to support others experiencing the unique successes and struggles that accompany the creative life.
