My work rests on a profound respect for the human capacity to change as well as a deep appreciation of the impact of emotional pain on the process of living. This perspective emerged from my 25+ years in practice, my formal training, my work at psychiatric hospitals and other facilities, my experience as a supervisor and a teacher, and a life lived as a member of the human species. Although my approach depends on the needs of each individual, I believe the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation for psychotherapy and a window into the client's other relationships, both historical and contemporary. I adopt a collaborative approach to create a safe space in which there is respect for the ways in which individuals have learned to cope with traumatic and painful experiences. Rather than pathologize these currently anachronistic survival strategies, I help clients understand them as creative attempts to cope that may have outlived their usefulness. believe that choosing the right therapist is more than just a matter of credentials and experience. I believe it involves finding someone with whom you have the right "fit." For this reason, I offer initial appointments that are free of charge if you decide not to work with me. I welcome your inquiries.

I spent much of my adult life working in Emergency Medicine as a Paramedic before going to the Physician Assistant program at Loma Linda University in Southern California. After graduating from there in 2018, I spent the past five years working in addiction medicine in a residential treatment program in Boulder, Colorado. Working in addiction medicine, I commonly assisted adult patients, of all ages, dealing with anxiety, depression, cravings, withdrawal symptoms and sleep challenges. Patients would often come to me wanting to reduce their amount of medications to just what was helpful and necessary and I would take a lot of pride in helping them achieve that goal. Genetic testing provides a helpful tool to initially choose, change or adjust a dose of a particular medication. I believe that it is important to meet an individual where they are in the healing process and to address the whole person rather than just the presenting problem or symptom. To address the “whole person” requires getting a detailed history and a partnership between patient and provider. Establishing such a partnership gives me great joy.

My path to counseling started during nearly a decade working in schools, where I saw how many young people were struggling without enough mental health support. That experience also taught me something I still bring into therapy every day: how to connect with people, earn their trust, and meet them where they are. I'm an LPCC and licensed school counselor with a master's degree in counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I also hold certifications in anxiety and stress management, trauma, grief, and loss. Outside the office, I'm a dad to two girls and usually happiest spending time outside with my family and friends or getting overly invested in a board game.

I see therapy as a team effort—you bring your expertise on your life, and I bring clinical knowledge, insight, and compassion. Together, we create a partnership built on respect, authenticity, and shared commitment to growth. Healing is deeply personal, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a licensed therapist with three years of experience, I’m dedicated to helping people across the lifespan navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and the emotional weight that can accumulate over time. Whether you're working through a painful experience, building more confidence in yourself, or simply looking for steadier ground, you'll find a space here that is empathetic, honest, and completely free of judgment. Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine human connection grounded in compassion and respect, and that's exactly what you can expect with me. My goal is to be a steady, supportive presence you feel genuinely comfortable with as you work toward healing, confidence, and personal growth that feel meaningful and lasting. Together, we'll create a supportive, down-to-earth space where you feel heard, understood, and never judged. My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible, ensuring your healing environment is always tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience. Drawing on evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, we'll build healthy coping skills, process difficult experiences, and support your overall emotional well-being to create positive change. Trauma-informed care is central to how I work, and empowering you throughout your healing journey is something I am genuinely passionate about. You set the direction; I'll help you find the way forward. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own experience in therapy and the profound impact of having people truly in my corner during some of the most difficult seasons of my life. Those relationships stayed with me, and they continue to shape how I show up for every person I work with. This foundation deepened my commitment to care that is compassionate, trauma-informed, and centered on each person’s experience. In every session, I bring empathy, honesty, and genuine respect for the process, with the intention of creating a space where you feel safe enough to be real, supported as you are, and encouraged in your own healing. Outside of the therapy room, I find restoration in nature, whether that's going for walks, hiking, biking, or simply being outdoors to unplug and reset. Traveling and exploring new places brings me a lot of joy, as does unhurried time with family and friends. When I'm winding down at the end of the day, you'll likely find me working on a puzzle while listening to a podcast, a simple combination that helps me slow down and recharge.

Finding a space where you can show up fully, exactly as you are, is where real change begins. My work centers on trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling, with a focus on emotional regulation and the connection between mind and body. Whether you're navigating identity, processing past experiences, or moving through a significant life transition, this is a space built for your healing. Many of the people I work with are adolescents and adults who carry the weight of trauma, systemic stressors, and the ongoing work of understanding themselves. Those from marginalized and BIPOC communities are especially welcome here, where your experiences will be met with the validation, safety, and cultural awareness they deserve. Beginning therapy takes courage, and honoring that courage is something I take seriously. Together, we'll build insight, develop tools for lasting change and empowerment, and move forward in a way that feels authentic to who you are. Therapy, at its best, is a collaboration. My approach is relational and integrative, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and somatic-based practices that attend to both the emotional and physical dimensions of your experience. What that looks like in practice is a space that is nonjudgmental, responsive to your pace, and shaped around your unique story. These techniques help create a sense of safety as you explore your experiences with safety and validation while guiding how we engage with what's been most difficult. The goal isn't just symptom relief; it's a deeper sense of self-trust and the kind of healing that stays with you. No matter where you are when you walk in, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative partner who meets you there. A deep curiosity about how our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us is what first drew me to this work. Through training and time spent with a diverse range of patients, that curiosity evolved into a genuine commitment to care that is both trauma-informed and culturally responsive. What guides me in every session is a belief that each person's story deserves to be honored in its full complexity. Bringing a warm, attuned, and thoughtful presence to the room is how I create space for you to feel seen, supported, and understood. Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in hiking, walking my dog Jax, reality TV, staying chronically online, and losing myself in a good book across any genre. These moments of rest and play are how I stay grounded, and that same sense of presence and balance is something I bring into my work with you.

My passion is helping others to manage their stress, anxiety, and depression. I help adults and teens achieve balance and flow in their life through therapy and mindfulness training. I believe in working with people from where they are in life. Each one of us intuitively knows what we need in order to work through life's struggles. Through mindfulness, self-inquiry, being outdoors, and moving our bodies, I can help you to find more peace and stillness in a time of stress and intensity. Believing that you already have everything you need to get through the difficult times in your life is essential. Offerings: Multi-Modality Coaching & Talk Therapy Using different modalities (CBT, mindfulness therapy, coaching) I facilitate a deeper sense of self-awareness and understanding, enabling you to get unstuck, find a deeper sense of peace, and reach your peak performance. Movement-Based Nature Therapy We will move together outside and connect in a therapeutic relationship. Movement stimulates the brain, enabling parts of yourself to come out that wouldn’t necessarily arise in a typical therapeutic setting.
