It's been an endless search for a therapist who really gets you. Someone who can dive into your problems without making you feel you have to compartmentalize important parts of your life. Someone who can be a safe sounding board whatever comes up. I want you to know it's ok to show up however you're feeling that day. It's ok to open up at your own pace. I will be right here beside you as you discover unique pathways towards resilience, fulfillment and fun. I center the needs of non-binary & other LGBTQ people in my practice. I help people navigate: stress management and resilience; emotional impact of chronic illness; family of origin issues; and enhancing fulfillment in all sorts of relationships through increased self-knowledge, communication, and collaboration. I believe therapy is most effective when it is a dynamic, collaborative process that integrates the wisdom of our body, mind and spiritual self. I use various approaches including Brainspotting, Heartmath, and mindfulness-based somatic therapy, that allow us to access the deep healing potential of brain, body and mind. Check out my website for more info.

Many of the clients I work with are looking to work through trauma and work towards building and maintaining fulfilling relationships, process trauma from relationships, reduce anxiety and depression, and learn healthy coping skills. In sessions I place high importance on the relationships I build with my clients as this plays the most crucial role in therapy success. I model my values by maintaining an approach that is affirming, trauma-informed, open-minded, and compassionate while also being direct. My approach will honor your unique experience and be focused on your personal needs. I incorporate CBT, RCT, EMDR & narrative therapy into our sessions to help you navigate harmful thinking patterns/behaviors, process trauma, & have healthier relationships with yourself/others.

I offer a warm and compassionate space to explore your emotional landscape in a way that feels right for you. Whether we are working on finding a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns you find yourself in, processing trauma, building skills for better relationships with yourself and others, or any goal you can think of, I'll be offering modalities and interventions that fit your needs. I'm always open for feedback and pivoting our work to best suite you for the season of life you find yourself in. In our first session, you can expect me to give you the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy. I'll ask about the history you feel comfortable sharing about yourself. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have for me and our work together. Most importantly, we'll start to create the building blocks for trust and comfort, however that looks for you. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, biking, reading, and enjoying cozy cups of tea.

Hi, I'm Larry - owner and currently primary therapist at Growth Odyssey LLC. Thanks for stopping by! I prefer to utilize a relaxed, approachable style to facilitate easy conversation and connection. I change therapy modalities periodically to best match where you are at with your process. I can use humor to help cut tension and set a pace for conversation that doesn't get too overwhelming. I believe that good therapy is like searching for treasure underwater - we want to go down, sift through the sand and mud, look for buried treasure, and periodically take moments to come up for air. I'm happy to meet you where you're at in your journey and help you find your way. I'm trained: I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UCCS Colorado Springs with additional training for addiction treatment. I've completed trainings for EMDR, ACT, trauma informed care, and many other areas to give me a well-rounded toolbox to work with. I'm experienced: I have worked in most levels of care, from weekly therapy sessions to inpatient rehab for substance use disorders and hospitalization for suicidal thoughts and severe psychiatric distress. I've experienced working with a broad range of issues which means I likely have some experience related to what you are going through.

Your mind has been consumed with overthinking, over analyzing and never-ending to-do lists. You feel frantic. The energy buzzing internally, drops into your chest and feels like it might burst from your lungs. It’s all too much. Sleeping is difficult. You witness days pass by, unable to stop & enjoy the moments; it’s a cycle of constant chaos. If this resonates, lets connect. We can shift those experiences, suspend the busyness and cultivate a space of internal clarity and calm, seriously.

About My Clients My clients bring their strengths, lived experiences, and wisdom to our therapy sessions every day. They bring resilience from the traumatic experiences they face and many of my clients bring and/or discuss the ways relationships impact their day to day lives. My Approach to Helping As a social worker, marriage and family therapist in training, and educator I value and center the wisdom that clients bring into the therapeutic conversation. My values also lie heavily in centering and validating the experiences of my clients from an inclusive perspective. My goal is to balance trusting the client to make the best decisions for themselves and create space for collaboration in the therapeutic process. Whether it is Individual, Couples Therapy, or Family Therapy, I believe that therapeutic interventions are tools that support the relationships, not replace them! Being a woman of color in the field of mental health guides and builds empathy in my work. I believe in creating a comfortable and supportive environment that encourages trust-building and playfulness when appropriate. I approach my work through meeting my clients where they are and creating customized clinical experiences based on the needs of my clients.

MY PHILOSOPHY: As a Counselor, Coach and Ayurvedic Consultant I approach the therapeutic process from a holistic view point. I believe that the integration of the body, mind and spirit is an essential expression of personal health. My focus is on the whole person, with special emphasis on how the mind is connected directly to the body and how a person thinks, feels and acts. Emphasis will be on wellness, with symptoms seen as calls to self-realization. MY SPECIALTIES: Individual counseling services for disorders such as: Anxiety Spectrum disorders like: Panic Attacks, PTSD, OCD, Social anxiety, Phobias, IBS, Stress management and Worry; Depressive disorders like: Mania, Bipolar disorder, Post-partum depression, and Depression; Sleep disorders like Insomnia and sleep/wake disorders Group practice: I have a team of counselors who work with me. My practice primarily serves LGBTQ+, queer, trans, and gender-expansive adults, alongside individuals navigating complex trauma, relational patterns, and perinatal mental health concerns. My clinical approach is supportive, affirming, trauma-informed, and grounded in relational and attachment-based frameworks. I integrate an awareness of how systems of power, identity, and lived experience shape mental health, and I strive to hold both individual healing and broader context in view. I have specialized focus in complex trauma, including childhood trauma, relational trauma, and attachment wounds. Many of my clients are exploring identity development, processing experiences of minority stress, or seeking a therapeutic space where they can fully express their gender and sexual identities without needing to justify or defend them. I also provide affirming care for individuals during pregnancy, postpartum transitions, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and other reproductive experiences. I am particularly mindful of the unique emotional and systemic considerations that may arise for LGBTQ+ individuals and families during these periods. While no therapeutic space can be perfectly free from the impact of broader social forces, I am deeply committed to creating a therapy environment that feels brave, collaborative, and respectful. I engage in ongoing consultation, supervision, and continuing education to support culturally responsive and identity-affirming care. My work is guided by trauma-informed principles, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and respect for client autonomy and self-determination. I view therapy as a collaborative process where clients are supported in deepening self-understanding, strengthening resilience, and moving toward meaningful change.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. For the “weirdos,” “misfits,” seekers and dreamers. Those who feel invisible, not enough, alone or like you are not able to be fully you and still be loved. The people who find solace in books and music, and intimate conversations. Who deeply feel there is something more or a better world possible. For people who feel both at home and alone in solitude. You’re not wrong for holding contradictions and it makes sense if the world feels at times both too heavy to bear and so full of magic and wonder. Have you been told that the way you experience the world is "too much" or you are "too sensitive?" Maybe you feel like you have a breadth of awareness and understanding but don't experience the solace you are longing for. Or that you have had to hide parts of yourself to belong, only to feel more disconnected. Imagine a life where you feel connected, alive and able to embrace the fullness and vastness of who you are. Where your energy can move towards things outside of the performance of being acceptable. I view therapy as quiet work; where the small and sometimes big shifts, hold the power to change what is possible for all of us. I will be with you as you gain clarity around your own wisdom and knowing; deconstruct the unhelpful stories you hold about yourself; and I will always sit with you through discomfort, dis-ease, celebration and joy. I work from modalities and techniques that are rooted in story telling and visualization (Narrative, IFS); and body based awareness and nervous system regulation (Somatic).

When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!
