College should be about growth, not just survival. If you're struggling with unpredictable mood swings, overwhelming worry, lots of sadness, or using substances to cope, or climate anxiety, I'm here for you. I offer a space where you don't need to hide your challenges or pretend to have it all together. We'll focus on getting to know each other, creating a safe space to open up, and increasing coping strategies, such as recognizing early warning signs, building supportive routines, navigating academic pressures, developing genuine connections without relying on substances, and handling the climate crisis with more ease. Hello! I am a clinical psychologist specializing in supporting individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves, how they relate to others and all of life. My style is warm, active, and genuine. I strongly believe in the importance of building an authentic and trusting relationship for therapy to be effective. I work from a relational framework, also drawing from my training in attachment theory, mindfulness, third-wave cognitive-behavioral (ACT, DBT) and interpersonal therapies. My approach is always grounded in compassion and curiosity for how my clients experience themselves and the world. I am a California native and completed my graduate education through Stanford before moving to Colorado in 2020. I worked in university counseling for two years as a predoctoral intern and postdoctoral fellow at CU Boulder’s Counseling and Psychiatric Services and love working with students in my private practice. I address a wide range of concerns, most commonly including relationship difficulties, existential issues, anxiety, and depression. As a first-generation immigrant, I am particularly fascinated by the impact of culture on identity and relationships. While challenging at times, I believe therapy can be extremely rewarding and even fun – humor is healing, and I laugh with my clients often! I currently have in-person availability on Mondays and Tuesdays in Denver and throughout the week virtually.

As a licensed psychologist, I provide therapy services across the lifespan. Viewing my role in clients' lives as a privilege, I approach my work with warmth, candor, and a genuine belief in one's potential for growth. A bit about my approach to therapy: Our difficulties often stem from longstanding patterns of relating to ourselves and others that are no longer serving us. Through greater awareness of these patterns and our internal emotional world, we are better able to cope and connect. I enjoy partnering with client's to explore both the past and present, with the hope of creating a better future. What you can expect from our first session: In our sessions, you can expect a welcoming and empathetic environment. We will start with an introductory session to determine fit. From there, we will dive into your story. I aim for our time to be collaborative, with us both taking active roles in the work. Schedule a session: https://corcoranpsych.sessionshealth.com/

“The real warriors in this world are the ones that see the details of another’s soul…they are the sensitive souls that understand that before they could be a light they first had to feel the burn.” -Shannon L. Adler. I too, identify as one of those sensitive souls (HSP), and am excited about working alongside other real warriors in an often insensitive world. As a fellow adoptee as well, I can relate with those who may have experienced this grief as well, and the trauma often surrounding that. Through Brainspotting, Nuerofeedback, CBT, and some integrated approaches, I’m excited to begin working at this practice and help others through these various modalities. Even if you don’t identify as a HSP, I’d love to work with you and help you through whatever difficulties you may be experiencing. I’m most passionate about nature and the outdoors, so aside from offering normal in office therapy, will be offering both virtual sessions, as well as walk and talk therapy. Nuerodivergents, and those with sensitive nervous systems are amongst populations I love working with.

Transitions, even positive ones, often bring up feelings of being out of control. We are more likely to turn on auto pilot and rely on behaviors that don't really promote our own wellbeing. I really enjoy working with folks navigating these stages of life and truly finding peace in riding the waves of life. I have specialized training in disordered eating, anxiety and trauma. I utilize EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral therapy most often in my practice. The most important thing for me is for my client to feel connected and safe exploring their relationship with emotions within the therapeutic relationship. Whether you are totally new to therapy or are just coming back, I meet all my clients wherever they are. You don't need to be ready to make changes to start the process!
