Therapists for college students near San Diego State University
Hi there. I’m glad you’re looking into getting support. I specialize in Somatic, Expressive Arts, and Inner Parts Work therapy. With me as your therapist, we will ground and regulate the body, as we invite different parts of you to be heard and to integrate. I am especially drawn to work with artists of all kinds, as I am one myself. This means we will invite creative techniques into the therapy space, such as dramatic role-play, movement, music, poetry and more to help to free your inner artist. I specialize in working with young adults as well, supporting individuation and community-building at this transformative time of life. I enjoy working with clients of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, sexualities, and other intersectional identities. I am a queer-affirming therapist. Please feel free to read more about what our work together will entail, and contact me to book a consultation. I look forward to meeting you.
The college experience can be a mixed bag. New environments, forming new relationships, academic pressures - and all while trying to tend to your mental health? Some of your peers seem to be navigating things better than you feel like you are. It is normal to be overwhelmed and feel out of your element. In my practice, I aim to create a collaborative environment for the most challenging emotions you feel to have a space to be heard and understood. I have experience working with grief/loss, life transition issues, family conflict, and anxiety/depression in my work with clients. Please feel free to reach out for a free phone consultation.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I completed my doctoral training specializing in psychiatry at Columbia University School of Nursing in 2019. I have experience providing psychiatric care to a diverse set of patient populations across a variety of settings. I enjoy treating patients who may be experiencing a range of life's difficulties and welcome clients with new-onset or acute conditions, as well as individuals suffering from more chronic, long-term conditions. I take an empathetic, holistic, and patient-centric approach to patient care. By combining expertise in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, I will work closely with you to set realistic goals and create individualized treatment plans that will aid in achieving your fullest potential.
