I am inspired by assisting individuals who wish to improve their parenting skills and through my history of educating, volunteering, and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, I have had success with helping people overcome the effects of traumatic events in their lives. I believe everyone has the capacity to be a whole and happy individual. I ensure my clients feel heard and understood in sessions by using empathy, compassion, and listening. I build trust by providing a safe and non-judgmental space for healing by engaging in active listing and by practicing acceptance of the client’s whole humanity. By seeing a client as a whole individual I am able to help them explore all their facets on their journey of healing.
I'm a therapist because I've had my own process with therapy. It takes strength to reach out, and I'm so glad you're here. I believe therapy can help, and that weekly sessions are only part of the picture. True growth and healing happens in applying what we talk about to your life outside of sessions. Like recovery, the therapy process is nonlinear, and the road can feel dicey before it starts to even out. I am honored to sit with my clients in the uncertainty and hold space for this, until the light begins to show through. I specialize in helping my clients with connecting to emotions, managing anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, perfectionism, and trauma. I'd love to chat with you to learn more about what brought you here, and how I can help.

In my practice, I specialize in working with young adults, individuals with childhood trauma and adult survivors of sexual and gender based violence with a focus on navigating daily life, relationships and boundaries to overcome these difficulties. I utilize a trauma informed approach and empower clients to be the expert of their own experience. My role is to provide the tools and support needed to reach collaboratively set goals. I pull from various evidence based practices to create a unique treatment approach for each client. Additionally, I'm in training to be an AASECT certified sex therapist. While I speak German, Armenian and Farsi, all services are provided in English. Therapy is a unique and highly vulnerable environment that can be intimidating to navigate at first. I am happy to schedule an initial free 15 minute consultation call to discuss your concerns and to determine if I am the best fit for your needs.

It’s always a good session when my clients feel challenged and motivated to work towards their goals between sessions. I believe that much of the therapy work is completed between sessions just as much as it is in the hour minutes we will spend together each week. As a therapist, I’m not afraid of bearing witness to your pain and fear while finding ways to recognize joy and hope. I truly believe in each of my clients’ ability to grow and change. As an Exposure-based therapist, I’ll encourage you to take steps to approach your fears and reclaim your life. As a woman of color, I am sensitive to the ways that identity and mental health intersect and impact each other. I take an action-oriented and direct approach. Therapy is an investment in YOU, and I value all that my clients put into this work. I aim to “work myself out of a job” with each client, because I know that the goal isn’t to stay in treatment forever– it’s to live happier and healthier lives.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner practicing in San Diego and through telehealth in the state of California. My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health–emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, in addition to medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. I develop collaborative treatment plans with you and treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks.

This makes it all the more important to me to create a warm and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable and understood. I received my Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University. Areas of focus include college students, physicians, lawyers and other professionals in high stress careers, reproductive psychology and parent coaching. I support teens and college students navigate the extraordinary phase of identity formation, and manage family expectations, academic stress, transition to college and the oft experienced "graduation blues," imposter syndrome, social anxiety and relationship difficulties. My therapeutic approach is solution focused, strengths based and skills oriented, viewed through a systemic & culturally responsive lens. Expertly and gently, I empower you with healthy coping skills starting with the very first session, so you can begin to find relief right away. I offer both short term and long term therapy to clients across California. My work is grounded in neuroscience, integrating evidence-based modalities. Together, with mindfulness and self compassion, we'll help you gain healthy emotional and relational skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) & Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) so you can move forward.
I specialize in deep, long-term therapy for people who want to better understand themselves, their relationships and the world around them. We all create patterns and parts of ourselves to survive as best we can in an unpredictable world. One of the most enriching endeavors to embark on is an explorations of ourselves in a deep and intentional way. It can be transcendental to work with someone to unravel behaviors and unconscious patterns and to begin to discover our essential selves.
People in your life might think everything is fine, but inside you feel overwhelmed and alone. Your anxiety is ramped up trying to control something that you cannot control. Your world has been turned upside down and now nothing seems the same. Fatigue and feelings of distraction are constantly present and your worries feel overwhelming. You might even feel that your relationships have changed and that you need to protect the ones you love by hiding how you truly feel. Not anymore...it’s time for change. Trying to stay "positive" and keeping it together just isn't cutting it. You want to enjoy your life and to have worry and fear take up less space. You’re ready to quiet your inner critic and begin to live a more balanced and fulfilling life. I can help you get there. In working together we can reduce the overwhelm and you can begin to feel like you again.
Hi! Glad you’re here. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I enjoy working with kids, adults, couples and families. I earned my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2005, and completed a clinical internship in UCSD’s Department of Family Medicine. There I collaborated with physicians in the care of patients and their family members. To this day, I follow a “bio-psycho-social” systems approach- looking at a client’s physical health (bio), emotional health (psycho), and current relationships and support systems (social). Because relationships can be both a source of worry - and also our greatest asset- a genuine connection (with family, friends, coworkers, etc) truly fosters improved emotional health. Considering our current stressors from a “systems perspective” allows us to cultivate a deeper understanding of how our family interactions and social connections affect our daily lives. We can enrich those connections, develop healthier boundaries, and connect meaningfully with people in our lives in a way that does not leave us feeling as drained or anxious. While it is certainly essential to address current challenges or problems, it is just as important to simultaneously identify strengths and assets already residing within. Looking at how to utilize coping skills, or learning new ones, helps bolster resiliency and brings new change. We work toward responding to adversity by changing course, healing, using new coping skills and then continuing forward. The act of seeking help can often feel overwhelming for anyone; it helps to not do it alone. I do my best to offer guidance, support, and dedicated focus on developing an approach tailored to meet a client’s particular set of current needs.
