From the founders of Cielo House, a nationally recognized group of Eating Disorder treatment programs, Cielomar Recovery offers a new dimension of healing, utilizing innovate technology to enhance treatment through better engagement. Cielomar is made up of a staff of licensed professionals, dedicated to the treatment of Eating Disorders and the improvement of the quality of life for all of our clients. The foundation of our treatment philosophy can be best expressed by the phrase, "Real Life Recovery." This speaks to the collaborative stance of our treatment, and how we seek to help clients apply the concepts of recovery to their everyday lives. We truly accept our clients for who they are where they are, and we work with them to get to where they want to be. We approach treatment with a spirit of teamwork, not just amongst the providers, but with the client as well. We use treatments that are tried and true, as well as innovative new approaches. We also use treatment designed to help more than just the symptoms of the Eating Disorder, but to help the person in all aspects of their life. We strive to cultivate skills that clients can take with them even after they move on from our program. There are very few resources for individuals and families struggling with Eating Disorders. We offer Residential, Day Treatment (Partial Hospitalization), Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient services.
***Currently serving individuals in California and Oregon*** Hello! My name is Carlota, and I am a social justice advocate; a believer in science; a fierce and overly-obsessed dog mom to two wacky pups; an immigrant; and steadfast in my conviction that we have a fundamental obligation to help one another if we have the means and capacity to do so. I am a licensed clinical social worker, and have been in practice since 2013. I completed my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley in 2008, and received my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2013 from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. I embrace evidence-based and research-supported therapies, while also honoring the power of the therapeutic relationship and process. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and panic, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and life transitions. I am a trained teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression (IPT-D). I also have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for Bipolar Disorder, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for the treatment of PTSD in children and teens. Why might I be a good fit for you? Because I get it, and I am whole-heartedly with you on this journey. I know that coming to therapy is a profound undertaking, and that what I will ask of you in this process is not easy. Introspection, change, and confronting avoidance are hard, and so I strive to provide a safe, authentic, and collaborative environment that honors your story, experience, and identity with compassion and without judgment; I strive to be worthy of bearing witness to your story.
Hi! I'm Michelle, an associate therapist committed to helping children, teens, and adults navigate the challenges of life with compassion and clarity. I specialize in supporting clients through anxiety, grief, depression, life transitions, and women’s issues. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of support, I’m here to walk alongside you. I believe therapy should be flexible and tailored to your unique needs. There’s no single approach that works for everyone, which is why I adjust my therapeutic methods to best serve you. Whether we focus on practical strategies, deep emotional work, or a mixture of both, my goal is always to meet you where you are and help you move forward at your own pace. Creating a safe, non-judgmental space is at the heart of my practice. I want you to feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together to address your current struggles and set meaningful goals for your future. If you're ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
Pain can quietly shape your life and sense of self, even when things look “fine” from the outside. It may show up as anxiety, depression, grief, anger, low self-esteem, substance use, or painful relationship patterns. You might notice yourself longing for closeness while also pulling away, or repeating dynamics you don’t fully understand. You may be navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, or longstanding attachment patterns that continue to surface in the present. Even when you can make sense of your experiences, something may still feel unresolved or unmoved. Together, we take time to know you and to understand how you experience yourself and others—how you relate, protect, and respond to closeness and emotion. We also pay attention to patterns as they emerge in your life and in therapy. My style is warm, collaborative, and relational. Our work supports greater awareness and a sense of safety, gradually loosening what has felt fixed so new possibilities can emerge. You’re welcome to reach out for a complimentary consultation. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for college students. Please reach out for more info.

I specialize in helping young adults find clarity, confidence, and calm. In our sessions, we’ll create a safe, judgment-free space for you to explore your values, identity, and relationships. Whether you’re navigating family or relationship dynamics, questioning career options, or exploring your identity around race or sexuality, I’ll help you unpack it all. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, with a focus on supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, and anyone feeling the pressures of high achievement. ADHD is more than just "having difficulty focusing," and no, not "everyone has a little bit of ADHD" as many people claim nowadays. The impact of ADHD is pervasive and can keep you from reaching your goals, connecting with others, maintaining a routine despite knowing that it would be helpful, and constantly "masking" for fear that you will not be accepted as you are. Life administrative tasks feel daunting and get postponed repeatedly, and the negative self-talk that ensues as a result takes a further toll and increases avoidance. I can help you understand the brain science of ADHD, incorporate aspects of mindfulness, somatic work, and other modalities to overcome these challenges, and regain your mental energy. You'll learn to work with your neurodivergence, NOT against it. I work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, lens and am mindful about how culture, immigration journeys and systemic racism play a role in how someone compensates for their ADHD.
