Sharon Wharton Counseling
I specialize in helping people through difficult times, whether due to a loss or a transition. It is in these times that we feel most afraid, lost, and unsure of the way forward. It is all too common that we cope with adversity by being hard on ourselves, withdrawing in shame, or disconnecting from what nourishes us. I will help you find the tools and skills within yourself to move forward and create a new life.
I will work with you to accept where you are now, find the strengths and skills you already have, and use them to climb out of your current state of unhappiness, guilt, or numbness, and toward more flexibility, joy, love, and gratitude. I use various techniques and modalities to achieve this with you, but the primary tool I use is Self- Compassion.
Finding the support you need right now is important to your healing journey. I offer a non-judgmental, compassionate perspective that focuses on reframing your experience, and providing relief from suffering in the moment. The pain and fear of depression and anxiety can often cause feelings of isolation and despair, but you don't have to go through it alone.
