Natalie Schrape
With over 26 years of experience, I utilize verbal psychotherapy and art psychotherapy to help you find your emotional voice whether it be about a current situation that is causing you distress or something from your past or future. We hold on to thoughts, behaviors and feelings that seem too overwhelming to share with others. We fear vulnerability. We run from difficult feelings/thoughts. We feel ashamed of our emotional "baggage". Then, we try to hide under a mask because of shame, fear, and anxiety. But hiding in shame only makes us feel isolated, empty and experience self hatred. We become disconnected from our bodies.
To promote healing and growth, we will sit through difficult emotions and thoughts until you have a better sense of yourself and self compassion. It is very important for us to create a trusting relationship where you can feel seen, heard and safe. I encourage you to express feelings, fears, conflicts, insecurities, memories and reconnect with your body.
You will learn to take off the mask & find inner strengths to bring a sense of connection to yourself & others. We will accomplish insight, self-awareness & compassion, coping strategies, a sense of purpose & connection, and relaxation. I want to help you feel more connected to your life, to remember YOUR truth, dislodge old patterns & reconnect with joy.
